Boll Weevil
So let's say you are a certain power-armored leader of a Millennium City superhero team. Your armor gives you 15 rED. Now let's say you are fighting a certain CU master of magnetism before he was neutered by the Millennium City penal system. IIRC, Neutron had a 7d6 RKA that affected metal only. Ironclad, who takes 2X stun from magnetic attacks and is made of metal pees a little and hides inside Rosie's diner leaving only Defender to take him down. Neutron fires all 7d6 at Defender and hits. As a GM, please describe how you would reconcile the damage even over multiple hits. I have never dealt much with breaking foci. For one thing, Defender's armor takes damage but he doesn't. Does that affect things like knockback?
Shoutybloke
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron IIRC, each hit that does more than 15 body will destroy one of defenders powers, with each of his multipower slots counting as a seperate power. The armor should be the last to go, when he is out of powers his power armour falls to bits. If the power does not have the no knockback limitation, it will do knockback normally. Boll Weevil
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron So Defender takes KB even though he was hit with an attack that would otherwise not affect him? I suppose the armor takes the knockback and carried him with it. Thanks for the quick answer.
BoloOfEarth
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron I agree with Shoutybloke's assessment, adding that knockback from an RKA is less than for nomal attacks and probably wouldn't result in much, if any, damage to Defender, other than pushing him around the battlefield a bit. And repped for your description of Ironclad's actions.
Egyptoid
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron 7d6 RKA! on average, that's 24 body and 84 stun. and the backup suit of armor is 83 blocks away at base. dang.
Shoutybloke
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron He doesn't take the stun though, because the rka only affects metal.
nexus
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron I thought multipowers counted as one Power or is that just for Adjustment powers?
Shoutybloke
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron yup, you're right. Defender is $*#&ed. Also, any attack that does 30 body or more will destroy the suit outright.
Matt the Bruins
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron In that case, I hope he wore clean underwear, as it will soon be displayed for all to see with that 7d6 RKA zapping his armor for any length of time. lapsedgamer
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron I thought multipowers counted as one Power or is that just for Adjustment powers? yup' date=' you're right. Defender is $*#&ed. Also, any attack that does 30 body or more will destroy the suit outright.[/quote'] It might be more fun and fair to take out the sytems one at a time, or to allow some systems to function longer on the way to failing. Not a strict rules interpretation, but it certainly makes dramatic sense and is in keeping with the genre.
Shaft
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron I thought multipowers counted as one Power or is that just for Adjustment powers? ECs count as one power for adjustment powers, but MPs do not.
jkwleisemann
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron On that note, would this be considered an 'adjustment power' for EC purposes? After all... it's an RKA, not a Drain or Transfer.
Shoutybloke
Re: OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron No, it's an attack on a focus. See the focus rules
