Trebuchet
I haven't used Mind Control in a campaign for decades, so I'm not clear on the details of what happens if the target is KO'd?
Hyper-Man
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? 5er pg 203 doesn't address this specifically. Circumstances might give the character a new Breakout Roll attempt when he wakes up.
Trebuchet
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? Then would it be reasonable to apply a Limitation if going unconscious automatically breaks the Mind Control?
Hyper-Man
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? Then would it be reasonable to apply a Limitation if going unconscious automatically breaks the Mind Control? Sure. Ultimate Mentalist might have something more to say on the subject though. Marcus Impudite
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? For me, it depends on how long it's been between them getting KO'ed and when they regain consciousness. If enough time has elapsed (an hour maybe?), and I have no good reason to do otherwise, I'd consider handwaving it and saying the effect wore off while they were still out cold. I've seldom seen a Mentalist who would waste END trying to maintain a Mind Control on someone who's clearly down for the count. YMMV, of course. Captain Obvious
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? I would allow the unconscious character to continue making breakout rolls as normal. If he's out long enough, he's likely to be free of the mind control by the time he comes to. prestidigitator
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? Hmm. I think it would depend a bit on the kind of Mind Control. There are long term Mind Controls that might be designed to last a lot longer than the period before the character's next voluntary or involuntary nap. So I'd be asking if the Mind Control has a fixed command, a Limitation that narrows its focus, or what the command was if it was a general-purpose power. EDIT: Example - "You will go to your locker on Thursday, find the bomb left there, and activate it under the bleachers at the stadium across the street from the school." Sean Waters
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? I don't believe that the target's unconsciousness has any effect on mind control, so it remains in place and the target keeps on making breakout rolls as normal. If being KO'd broke the control that might be worth a small limitation (-1/4 at most) but generally MC does not last that long, so I doubt it. Of course, if that does not make dramatic sense you can change the way it works, but I'd suggest you need to be consistent in application. BNakagawa
Re: Mind Control: What happens if the controlled person is knocked unconscious? Office Space? No, wait, that's what happens when the controller is taken out...
