Re: Abandoned Soviet Nuclear Powered Lighthouse

Real World> This is not good news, the reactor components could be the dirty part of a dirty bomb...

RPG World> The players have to go to one of these nicely radioactive sites and retrieve something, watch out for radiation posioning anyone..

did we mention local Russian criminal gang would be watching the site since it is in its territory...

Re: Abandoned Soviet Nuclear Powered Lighthouse

I spent quite a while just surfing the site. Some of those pictures are AWESOME!

There are pictures of snow drifts 4 stories high and odd old soviet bits and pieces (the first mobile phone, some tanks, planes, cars, etc).

It shouldn't come as a shock, but there were a number of communities and towns that were totally abandonded. Because of the climate these towns are remarkably well preserved and they are just AWESOME! Built totally of wood and still looking in really good shape. Makes me want to hop a plane and go check some of them out!

Re: Abandoned Soviet Nuclear Powered Lighthouse

I'm figuring these where decay piles like what are used on satalites and spacecraft

very good idea till scavengers came a knocking

and they actually look well built for soviet built equipment(considering the enviroment as ghost-angel stated)
