Re: Good Dogfight sources

Sky Captain was on my list but if it gets a pass on a pulp board I guess I'll look elsewhere.

Well, I enjoyed it, but putting it down seems to be a popular pasttime on various boards.

As 'dogfight movies' go, unless your game is likely to feature a P-40 more tricked out than James Bond's Aston Martin, weird airships and giant robots; it probably is not what you are looking for here. Think 'Crimson Skies' combined with seriously deranged (Hollywood) science and some interesting drugs, and you might come close.

Re: Good Dogfight sources

There are other war films

Battle of Midway

Reach for the Sky (This is about Douglas Bader who had a tin leg)

Mosquito Squadron

And definitely Battle of Britain

There is a John Wayne/Kirk Douglas film which has some dogfight stuff in it. It's Black and White set in the Pacific

BOTH legs, dude. I read the book that the movie was based on. Bader was in a horrific aircrash in the 1930s. Miracle that he survived at all, even more of a miracle that he STILL wanted to fly afterwards.
