Re: What Happened to the Hominids Who Were Smarter Than Us?

Your supposed, to Kill the dude, playin' the dude, disguised as another dude! Not the Dude with the thing, because you might NEED that thing, to finish the game, and you may not know how to use it, because it requires Boskop intellect.

Nonono -- kill the dude with the thing!

No you're supposed to Kill the THING, pretending to be the Dude, that's pretending to be the other dude with the Thing. The entire base is going to be taken over now. *sigh*

That just opens up an entire can of stowaway issues there. next thing you know, Predators will succeed in weaponizing Alien Xenomorphs, and using them like hunting dogs.....oh wait.....that's what's going to happen in the next AvP comic ......

You're right. best to just stay on the surface and remotely put your ship into a cometary orbit around the planet and then bring it down on the site whilst simultaneously detonating all the ordnance on board and creating a catastrophic failure of the power system.

Too complicated. Just show them what this fully-operation battle station is capable of.

Occasionally threads derail, and even when re-tracked, they become a bit squirrel like in their meanderings while folks set the feet and begin moving forward with more hard information. Sometimes, you just got to let the quirky stuff, work it's way out.

To return the tracks so to speak, there is still a lot of potential in the Boskop stuff, if you follow the DEBUNKER side of the Boskop material as well. That line, leads you to several other findings and peoples, with similar development in skull size, at similar times, so that perhaps in the form of a game line, one could look at the entire Boskop thing as a genetic anomoly that pops up every once in awhile for a reason of some sorts.....or as a divergent evolution .....Kind of like that one old TV show Prey .......Lot of potential along those lines.

Something along the Pro-Boskop Line, would be like, the Anti-Prey, and the reason why they went into hiding, was because of another evolutionary line, that developed along the lines like the Branch in Prey. Food for thought.

Believe it or not, I stumbled on this by accident -

http://www.jstor.org/pss/2794792

apparently, a 1957 reference to some of the Khoisan as "Boskopoid"

Did I mention that that particular group is said to have unusual genetic diversity?

Lucius Alexander

Insert gratuitous palindromedary tagline here

And....http://johnhawks.net/weblog/reviews/brain/paleo/return-amazing-boskops-lynch-granger-2009.html

Because I'll do anything to avoid working on the Unsolicited Manuscript of Doom on the morning of the seventh out of seven straight days of work. Even post links I found on Wikipedia.

Since the facts all support debunking, I'm wondering where we'd go to look for counterfacts. "Neolithic people were smarter than you think" leads to crazy stuff pretty quickly --but we all know about this bit of crazy stuff that might not really be crazy, right?
