Nazi's with Jet Packs

Found this article on Gizmodo about the Nazi Jet pack. Seems the thing allows jumps over 18ft and since the jet wasn't in constant use didn't require special Uniforms.

Actually, the articles says jumps of 180 feet - which sounds much more impressive. You'd need good reflexes, though - the results of dropping 50 feet with all your combat gear plus a giant rocket on your back wouldn't be pretty.

Anyway, just damn. How come the nazis get all the best toys?

cheers, Mark

That's what you get when your government supports Evil Mad Science. Cool, yet scary toys that you would have to be a bit insane to use.

You know, that's a pretty damn good explanation.

As an aside, in German, "himmel" can mean both "sky" and "heaven" and I suspect a closer translation to what was intended would be the even-cooler "heaven-stormer" - it's certainly how I read it when I saw the name.

Yep, I know a bit of German myself and I read it the same way.

More like, Storming Heaven......We "Go into the Garage...." They "Into the garage they go...." or so I vaguely recall. My German has gotten vastly rusty in the last 15 years or so. About all I'm competent in nowadays speaking wise, is how to order more beer and ask for the check after dinner, and a sweltering barrage of epitaphs, but I tend to remember more of it when I'm surrounded by it. Haven't been back there in a decade or so, about overdue for a return visit methinks.
