So, leviathan vs. megalodon: who wins? (You knew it was coming.) :eg:

I say leviathan. Between predators of comparable capabilities, IMO intelligence gives an edge. Plus that massive leviathan skull probably adds a battering ram to its arsenal.

Re: Behold Leviathan: the sperm whale that killed other whales

So lately the family has been into watching Nat Geo's "Expedition Great White", wherein lunatic scientists hook great white sharks, wear them out a bit,* tow them onto this hydraulic platform attached to the mother ship, raise them out of the water, and then swarm all over them to tag, measure, and sample them. It looks like so much fun. These things are nowhere near the size of Leviathan, but the big fat ones look to be about the size of a Honda Civic, and they really exist. Today.

*Using Quint's buoy system, believe it or not. With smaller buoys.

Great whites? Nah, not really problem around the coast, mate. Salties cleaned 'em out long since.

Bear in mind that's a medium-sized "salty" - they get quite a lot bigger than that

cheers, Mark

Your image link didn't work for me, but I assume you're referring to the salt water crocodile, largest living reptile: http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/reptiles/saltwater-crocodile.html

As usual, past eras have that beat, as well: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2001/10/1025_supercroc.html
