JohnTaber Posted May 27, 2011 Report Share Posted May 27, 2011 Hi FH Folks: In my current FH campaign one of the warrior characters is going to receive a magical quill from an Empress. Now my questions... One power of the quill will be the ability to transfer messages back to a prepared piece of parchment in possession of the Empress. I have some ideas on how this could be built but I would like to hear some ideas from other folks. I would like to give the pen some type of minor additional power for the PC but I can't think of any fun ideas as the PC is not a wizard but a warrior/former military commander/brick PC. I had to get good at non-combat magic items in my old FH campaign, because my PC's got tough enough I needed to curtail their power creep. How about the classic "featherfall" ability (limited Gliding or Flight), allowing someone holding it to fall slowly and safely from any height? (The scribe actually uses the quill on a daily basis. ) In fact the PC is finally realizing that the Empress may actually have feelings for him since her husband was murdered...he also paid almost 20 pts for the contact.
