Barwickian
Very cool. I had one of these books as a kid, and loved it dearly (and it may still be knocking around somewhere) - hadn't realised there was more than one book until I saw the notes to the video. Several of my favourites from the book I had made it into the video. I remember the Tarantula as being solid-hulled, rather than open-framed, though. wcw43921
There were two illustrations of the Tarantula, the full-page painting with a solid hull, and a sketch that had the open framework. As I remember, the open-frame model was hastily constructed because the invasion was coming and there was no time to build the complete version--which considering it was meant as a sort of booby trap was perhaps just as well. GoldenAge
Wow! I have the '78 book! Loved, loved, loved it as a kid and still use it in my game!
Doc Shadow
I have two of them. Spacecraft 2000 to 2100 AD and Great Space Battles I didn't know there were any more. Does anyone know what the other titles were?
Old Man
I kind of liked the writing for a couple of these books, but some of the art was terrible. I can't stand anything by Foss, for example.
