Might want a radio in that. Some types might include Mind Defense too. And often there's a major PRE boost if the guy inside the armor is a real milquetoast.

It's got High Range Radio Perception.  This is a basic model based on the Iron Man/Avengers movie versions.  Models can be customized.

For example, Steel can reduce the EB to 8d6, and trade the points for a HA +2d6 No END OAF Hammer.  War Machine can trade the EB 10d6 (Repulsors) for an EB 8d6 VSFX (Bullets/Repulsors) giving him an option for attacking PD or ED.

These are the base Characteristics I used with all my Powered Armor Heroes/Heroine

Male  Char  Female

20 STR 15

18 DEX 20

20 CON 18

12 BODY 11

18 INT 18

11 EGO 14

15 PRE 15

18 COM 18

6 PD 5

4 ED 5

4 SPD 4

10 REC 9

50 END 46

32 STUN 28

Total Characteristics Cost: 100 Points

Men are stronger and have a slight edge in REC, STUN, and END.  Women have more DEX and EGO.

Solid.  No complaints.  Well, maybe with the telescopic sight ... :)

> EC [Powered Armor]-15 Points, OIF (-1/2) Cost 10 Points
> 1) EB 10d6 Cost 23 Points

> 3) STR +30 Cost 10 Points

But this ... often things like these are much better in a multipower.

From a pure point viewpoint, it's hard to beat an EC ... but one of the hallmarks of power armour types is versatility:

e.g.

MP (75 Active,  50 Real)

3u 10D6 EB

3u 6D6 EB, Ex

2u 2D6 EB, Autofire (+1), Damage Field (+½), NND (+1) (vs FF)

3u Missile Reflect

4m Flight (10")

1u Flight (Megascale)

4m Swimming

1u STR +20

1u HKA (1D6+1)

1u Telescopic Sight, +6  Per, Vision Group

1u Microscopic, x10,000, Vision Group

One other option is to have some of the attacks as OAF.  Blaster Rifle, Flash Grenades, Takedown Net.

YMMV

I understand the flexibility in attacks using a multi power.  You could put both the STR and EB, with different types of attacks.

For example

Multipower (60 Points) OIF: Powered Armor

u) EB 6d6, Double KNB (+3/4), 1/2 END (+1/2)

u) EB 12d6

u) EB 8d6, VSFX [Any] (+1/2)

u) STR +40, No END (+1/2)

The Telescopic Sight is from the Iron Man movie.  The UV Sight is from the Avengers (it works well underwater).

One thing.  I don't think Enhanced Senses are allowed in power frameworks.

RESTRICTIONS ON SLOT PURCHASES

Characters cannot purchase Special Powers

and Talents in Power Frameworks, except with

the GM’s permission. For example, characters

generally cannot buy Flash Defense or Enhanced

Senses in a Power Framework — but most GMs

would allow a character who had a “Gadget Pool”

VPP to do so if he defi ned the Special Power as an

appropriate, commonly-available object (such as

sunglasses or a telescope).

I don't think you can have "Powered Armor" as an EC. It would be like having "EC Mutant Powers" or "EC Vampire Powers" or "EC I wanna cut costs powers". Now if all the powers in the EC the armor provided were based on say plasma then I could see having an EC Plasma Powers with an OIF.

Fair Enough.

The Iron Man Armor's EC is "Arc Reactor."

Well technically, for Iron Man the Arc Reactor is just the power source.  Repulsors are the special effect of the Flight and Energy Blast.  Strength is...mechanical.

Which is why in my games there are a few sentences discussing the topic of ECs vs Suits.

Chris.

Superman gets his powers from Yellow Sun Energy, which powers both his muscles, but his flight, heat vision, and freezing breath.

Update

According to Marvel.wikia.com the Iron Man/Rescue/War Marchine (Iron Patriot) armor power comes from the "Repulsor Tech Nodes".  That makes sense, as the Repulsor energy powers not only the EB but Flight.

As long as it's a special effect that someone can devise a drain for it's allowable. You get the bonus because if you drain one power in an EB all powers are drained by the same amount.

Which is why I really like 6e's Unified Power as a replacement for Elemental Controls. No limits as to what can be limited with the limitation. No inflated Point powers or Multiple power constructs to create EC slots
