Re: [iron] Why do you dislike the Four Color/Silver age (No Flames please) This is a difficult question for me because I would think a true comics fan wouldn't make a blanket statement such as disliking a certain age because a good story is a good story no matter what 'age' is the backdrop. If forced to pick one I'd say I dislike it for most of the reasons listed above such as its overall lack of realism. But then, that's also why I like it.

Threw a Glass Dorkly Most of these are good suggestions, although I'd disagree with definitions of Bronze (not a lot of humor there, early 70s to early 80s, lots of angst, social issues, rebellious/angry minority heroes, hero deaths, clones, etc.) and Iron Age. I'd add that all first and last names in the Gold and Silver Ages start with the same letter (Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Peter Parker, Reed Richards, etc.).

Re: Need ideas for Excalibur If you take Excalibur as a symbol of the strength of the land you could give it some earth and/or plant controlling powers. Also, in many stories it was supposed to a symbol of peace, bringing the people together, and healing the country so you could give it some Dispelling/Nullification powers, Aid to teammates (Kingly Inspiration), and general Healing abilities.

Re: FYI: why more people aren't playing HERO (rpg.net) Those are probably typical reasons for someone not playing ANY game system though, not just HERO.
