Re: The cranky thread Yeah, we're all set up for the National Body Challenge but we're a small store and we don't even have some of the stuff that's supposed to be on display. One thing that has me a little nervous is that I've heard that Discovery is thinking of moving thier main office from Maryland to Sterling, Virginia. That means if they do then we'll have the mian office of the company just a few minutes away from the mall where our store is loacted, ugh. And let me just get this out, while I know they're for a good cause and everything, I'm getting sick of the Live Strong bracelets. Nearly all the people who come in to buy them (mostly kids) have no clue what they're for. They just want them because it's the "in thing." A couple of our part timers came up with the idea of making brown rubber bracelets that say "Eat S***" and the thing is people probably would buy them with no clue as to what it says, they'd buy them becuase it's a rubber bracelet and it's the current "cool thing" to have.

Re: The cranky thread I'm at store #322, Dulles Town Center, Virginia. What's funny is that a ceiling tile collapsed last night and today our DSM is supposed to be visiting our store...that's going to be fun. Makes me happy I have today off.

Re: The cranky thread I just spent my birthday working a 8 hour closing shift and nothing good happened. A ceilling tile fell due to a leak from a store above us, one of the registers I counted out came out waaaay under and other register came out waaay over. Not to mention all the returns I keep getting beacuse no one liked the gift they were given or changed thier minds on one of our high priced items. It was just a crappy way to spend that one particular day of the year. Fortunately there was ice cream cake waiting for me at home and I spent the rest of the eveing watching the first two episodes of Macross Plus. P.S. Working in retail, I have come hate people in general.

Re: Okay, Who's yer favorite Icon? My favorite iconic charavter is without question, Spider-Man. For the his everyman quality and that despite all the tragedies, the hard times and all the crap he's been through, he manages to stick to his guns (pun not intended) and keeps on going. On a personal note, Spider-Man is also the character that introduced me to the world of superheros when I was a kid and he's just been my favorite overall superhero since. But just to mention a couple of others... Batman-A normal man who can hold his own with the heavy hitters. Nightwing-The original Robin who's made an identity apart from The Bat and just 'cause I think he's cool.
