Major Tom 2009 got a reaction from Pariah in A DC Animated-style HeroMachine
Here's a little something I put together this morning during I.V. therapy this morning -- a new version
of a certain mystical outcast who frequents these boards:
Pariah

And finally, here's pic No. #5:

And here's the last for right now:
Fulcrum
(I'd redone a total of five of Pariah's pics in FdH2011 format, but for whatever strange reason, one
of them wasn't saved in my picture files, so I'm going to have to redo her.)

Here's someone else that was mentioned in connection with the Grand Gulag; I decided to do her pic
in a style that was partially reminiscent of a certain member of a current cinematic superteam:
White Widow
The symbol on the left breast of her uniform is of a white hourglass symbol with a downwards-facing spider
superimposed upon it.

Here are a few more of The Arc's character pics, this time from his Grand Gulag group and redone
in FdH2011 format. Most of them had already-existing pics that I was able to use as references for
my versions, while others are basically my interpetations of characters that I only saw written refer-
ences for.
Here's one of those from the second category:
Doctor Grey Matter
From what I remember of the Doctor's description, he was basically a 'brain in a bubble' following an
experiment (I think it had to do with nanotechnology, but I'm not sure). So I decided to take an 'Arnim
Zola'-type approach with his design, in that I made the pic with his brain in an upper-mounted glass
dome (suspended in an oxygenated nutrient solution), with a robotic 'face' on the middle front of his
mechanical 'body'. The body itself is supported by an anti-gravity field (the glowing blue oval on the
bottom) reverse-engineered from alien technology, and is able to change direction and facing by
means of an internal array of gyroscopes mounted at 'face' level. Four robotic 'arms' are mounted
on the rear of his 'body', and are each tipped with a three-fingered 'hand'; this allows Doctor Grey
Matter to physically handle objects, albeit in a limited way. The Doctor is also able to use these
arms offensively; he does so by grabbing his target and conducting an electrical charge through
them. The charge is of sufficient intensity to stun a normal human being.
Doctor Grey Matter's mechanical 'body' is armored, and is capable of withstanding .50-caliber machine
gun fire; he is, however, working on a new design for his 'body', one that will have a built-in force field
generator.

And finally, the mastermind behind the Charms Gang:
The Leprechaun
This diminutive yet diabolical genius is the mastermind responsible for recruiting and creating the Charms Gang;
while his criminal genius is recognized by members of the law-enforcement community, his choice of costume
has led many to believe that he is nothing more than an eccentric yet brilliant criminal.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Leprechaun is, in fact, an actual leprechaun, with all of the powers and abilities attributed to members of that
race as detailed in folklore. This particular leprechaun, however, is not only fascinated by the outside world, he
also wants to add to his hoard of gold -- and has decided to do so through crime. To this end, he tracked down
and recruited the various superhumans that now make up the Charms Gang.
Quote: "Bloody coppers -- always after me Charms."

Here's another set of redone pics (plus one new addition) of a supervillain group suitable for either a
Champions or Post-Apocalyptic Hero campaign -- The Brotherhood of Desolation:
From left to right, the core members of the Brotherhood are Father Armageddon, the leader of the group; Mother Meggido,
the BoD's second-in-command and Father Armageddon's lover; Sister Apocalypse, a new recruit to the Brotherhood who has
psionic powers; Brother War, Sister Death, Brother Pestilence and Sister Famine, the field generals of the Brotherhood's
army. Each of the four has a specific area of responsibility within the BoD; War leads the BoD's army into battle when needed,
while Death works to come up with plans which will cause the greatest number of fatalities. As twin siblings, Pestilence and
Famine often work together to weaken a target area through the use of their signature weapons -- disease and starvation.
Apocalypse has a special mission of her own; she is to find an officer with access to nuclear weapons and the means to fire
them. Once she has accomplished this, she is to telepathically condition the officer so that -- once the Brotherhood is ready
to launch its master plan -- he or she will launch those weapons upon receiving the telepathic command.
The objective of the group is to somehow bring about the Apocalypse; their belief is that a world whose organized governments
and supporting military forces have been largely destroyed will be far easier to conquer and rule over.
Below are pics of members of the BoD's army -- an Acolyte, who serves as a 'commissioned officer'-type of leader within the
Brotherhood's forces, and a Shocktrooper, a thousand of whom make up the Brotherhood's army. The BoD's army is split
up into units of 50 Shocktroopers each which are commanded by an Acolyte; BoD bases are home to two such units.

Here's a new batch of villains that's in plenty of time for Halloween, as they all have a supernatural theme
to them. And so, without further ado, here's the Dark Covenant:
The members of the Dark Covenant are as follows: Count Blood, a member of the British peerage who is
secretly a vampire and the leader of the group; Shadow Witch, the group's second-in-command and a
practicioner of witchcraft of the blackest, most evil sort, in addition to being the Count's lover; Skinwalker,
an Amerind-Caucasian lycanthrope with a penchant for 'playing' with his prey, drawing out his or her fear
and suffering for as long as possible before the kill; Herr Doktor, a German-born scientist of questionable
ethics who has not only continued the work of Victor Frankenstein, but has also improved upon it as well --
as embodied by the fifth member of the group, the artificial lifeform known only as the Construct. Not only
was Herr Doktor able to create the creature using an advanced version of the process originally used to
create what became known as Frankenstein's Monster, he also had access to better 'raw materials' -- to wit,
the remains of slain metahumans. Because of the metahuman bodies used in its creation, the Construct
has superhuman strength and slightly faster-than-normal reflexes, not to mention an inhuman level of
endurance and resistance to physical harm. It also possess a powerful attack in the form of an optic energy-
beam, which it can fire from its right eye. The final member of the group is Swampbeast, an amphibian
horror of unknown origin which appears to have been created from a combination of several species, in-
cluding human beings. The creature is highly intelligent, and delights in terrorizing lone groups of boaters
out on what it considers to be its hunting grounds.
The primary focus of the Dark Covenant appears to be the acquisition of items of great mystical power -- magic
artifacts, grimores, etc. -- for purposes which only they know; the few law-enforcement agents who have gotten
close enough to discover the group's secrets have, to a man, met with a horrifying demise.

Several years ago, I had the opportunity to get hold of a copy of Games Workshop's Golden Heroes
superhero RPG. In the villains section of one of the game's two books, there was a supervillain team
called the Fraternity, whose members were all scientists who'd decided to use their abilities to aquire
great power and wealth. The members of this team were:
Fanatic, a scientist who had developed a drug that would increase a human being's strength to its maximum
(non-superhuman) limit. When he took the drug himself, an unfortunate side-effect caused him to be locked
into a permanent berserker rage (permanent at least until a means can be found to undo the berserker rage
and restore his intellect).
Fleetfoot: a collaborator with Fanatic in the development of the physical enhancement drug, the scientist
who would later become Fleetfoot carried out additional research into the drug, eventually coming up with
a version that would grant the user superhuman speed, but without causing the same kind of mental difficulties
that Fanatic suffers from.
Fistfighter: a brilliant cyberneticist, he designed and built a cybernetic implant, into which were programmed
the combined memories and skills of two professional athletes -- a boxer and a gymnast -- who had been kid-
napped for that purpose by Fleetfoot. Once the implant was programmed, Fistfighter underwent surgery to
have the implant connected to his brain.
Firebrand: believed to possess a mutant power of enhanced genius where extremely complicated feats of
mechanical engineering are concerned, this arrogant and crude man developed two methods for giving a
human being superhuman abilities -- which he used upon himself. The first of these was an implanted anti-
gravity device which enabled him to fly, while the second was an energy-absorption process which gave
him the power to project blasts of concentrated flame at his opponents; the process had the side-effect of
giving him superhuman strength as well.
Freebird: a brilliant scientist in her own right, Freebird worked together with Firebrand to create the anti-
gravity device which enables her to fly. While she believes that the group can achieve its objectives in a
non-violent way, she's far from being a shrinking violet; if attacked and struck in combat, Freebird will do
whatever is needed to humiliate her attacker.
A while ago, I wondered what the Fraternity might be like if it had a few more members -- say, two more
female members. With that in mind, I added two additional members to the roster:
Frenzy: this Oriental cyberneticist who suffered from epilepsy was attempting to find a means of at least
controlling her problem, and had designed an implant that -- in theory -- would detect and prevent the
seizures that she experienced from time to time. When the implant was complete, she underwent surgery
to have it connected to her brain. The surgery was not only a success, but also had an unexpected side
effect, in that the implant "activated" a latent psionic ability within her -- an ability which enabled her to
induce temporary epilepsy in others, either singly or in groups.
Forcewave: this Indian-born physicist gained her force-projection powers when an experimental anti-
earthquake device malfunctioned and exploded, bathing her in its unique energies. Once she'd gotten
out of the hospital, she soon discovered that the device had somehow given her the power to create
either "beams" of concentrated force, or a 360-degree field around herself that had an effect not unlike
an earthquake.
Now without further ado, here are the pics of the Fraternity in the order in which they've been presented:
The uniforms that they're shown wearing aren't the original design which was in the book; as I didn't have the
means to replicate the original design exactly, I decided to do what superbeings in the comics have done over
the years -- gave them a new design for their outfits.
At least these guys aren't going to pull a Janet van Dyne-Pym and change their suits every few months or so...
