Practically speaking, Mind Control is just the name of the mechanic.  You could base it on CON or possibly other stat with GM approval.

As for making a person stop breathing, you should be able to.  After all, the rules do allow you to hold your breath until you pass out.  Stopping autonomic functions would be probably some other attack.

Och, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me. 45 pts 8/8 vs AP, 51pts 11/11 vs AP, 56 pts 15/15 vs AP. I'm sure there is a breakpoint that is slightly more efficient, but ultimately you can pay an extra 6pts to get an extra 3 pts armour against AP, or an extra 11 to get 7 more?
As always it depends on the campaign (there are A LOT of 4d6-1 standard effect RKAs?), but otherwise this looks a lot less twinky than an awful lot of "legal" purchases.
YMMV, obviously, and added complexity is a perfectly reasonable reason to enforce the RAW.

When looking up the surface area of a human, I got 1.9 square meters. That translates to:
1.9 square meters = 2945.006 square inches That means at that depth, the victim is being subjected to 46,383,844.5 pounds of force or  21039.358 metric tons

That's the equivalent of a 98 STR, so 19.5d6 every segment.

No, of course you could do that!
It's just that when you calculate DCV or see it in previous supplements you will be adding 10 every time, it just seemed easier to us to clarify we'd be adding ten every time.
On the other, that's us being path dependent again, we were using lots of previous stat blocks. And you're right, when we asked what DCV was we used to say either "6+10" or "16".
So actually writing 16 on the sheet makes sense :- )

Just a question about implementation of this and making it "more elegant" in some ways.

Is there any reason (I can't see one) where with this system, you just automatically make every DCV score just 10+ whatever you paid for? Just have DCV flat out 10 points higher than normal... so when you say, "Ok, I'll hit a DCV 18..." everyone has a DCV like that already written on their sheets.   Normal Man doesn't have a 3 DCV... he has a 13 DCV. Bouncey Spider doesn't have a 10 DCV... he has a 20 DCV.

Basically take that calculation out of the combat roll, and put it during character construction. You could even program Hero Designer to list DCV that way, right?

Anyway, just wondering if I'm missing anything on that.

    Hi, all,
I've been here a bit but not introduced myself - apologies for rudeness.

My handle, Doccowie? My name's Andrew Cowie, I have a lot of friends called Andrew, they tend to call me Doc to differentiate.

First tabletop RPG? Holmes Basic D&D. A friend's American aunt bought it for him and he brought it back to London. Same one I GMd. So, that's, er 39 years ago...

What am I currently playing/DMing? Mostly 5E - I've been playing with the same group for 20+ years, and they ain't shifting from D&D.

Why am I here? Well, I see D&D as going out for pizza with my mates, it's great fun, and we love it - but that doesn't stop me experimenting with a gourmet rule system. When they change their minds - I'll be ready!

Good luck to all my American friends,

You have had a stressful few months (it's been tough enough with the Atlantic between us). The bile and misery in the news seems so alien to how I always find people in person, both those supporting Clinton or Trump.

So, go vote for whoever you think best, and I am confident that the people I know and love over there will still be there no matter what the result.

    Keep/Make America Great!
