I just don't get the mentality of those who think having unaccountable armed militia on every street corner make us more "free". Probably just me though....sigh...

The highlights alone were NSFL if you value even the appearance of impartiality in your justice system. It was an honest to God, fix-is-in kangaroo court.

The guy who needs to put that guy in his place isn't Fred Rogers. It's Steve Rogers. 

I hope that one day, my daughter finds someone to lover her the way that judge shroeder loves Kyle.
 
 

Statistically speaking, at least, it's almost certain to be an improvement.

Latest update on my father:  He is home. On blood thinners. They doctors  look at him again in a week or less. He is still in a bit of danger, as the first week after a stroke is most prone to repeats . However he is doing much better. Bouts of double vision still but  not often. Apparently  it was indeed a stroke, back of the head, just above the hypothalamus. And the doctors say he is, comparatively, very lucky, as it is usually far worse or just plain lethal when one hits there.
 
I want to thank everyone for the kindness and support. He is not completely out of the wood yet, but at least out of the worst parts, and  I hope on the mend.

Pull up a chair, folks.  Very heavy dose of irony.

That's because liberals/progressives, etc. live in the real world where things are multifaceted and complicated. Reactionaries live in a world of black and white absolutes...no matter how much of a fantasy that world might be. It's easy to be consistent in your message when you don't have to acknowledge any other options.

Hm.  Two days ago the US Men's National Soccer Team hung a "Dos a cero" on Mexico (that is, beat them 2-0) in the Octagon; both goals came late.  (The Octagon is the 8-team double round robin tournament to decide which teams from CONCACAF go to the 2022 World Cup.)  Official USMNT page about the result.  The game was in Cincinnati.  USMNT now is technically in the lead in that tournament, though their lead over Mexico is only in goal differential (the two are tied on points).  Their next game in at Jamaica on Tuesday. 

I thought for sure that the Falcons were going to be the loser of the week, but then the Squawks scored zero. Wow. 

Something to look forward to in 2024.  I hope to visit this place when it opens.
