Re: My Orcs An "orc" was also the name of a sea monster.
  3. Re: "Neat" Pictures That's no moon....
  4. Re: Villain gains the powers of a Wendigo *sigh* Neither can I.

  6. Re: "Neat" Pictures Considering their manlier than vampires these days, you're safe.
  7. Re: Istvatha V'han - why can't she conquer Earth? I understand that while V'han's first invasion was turned back by Hostess fruit pies, rumor has her second stopped by cute cartoon ponies.
  8. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? The Expendables 2 -- Not as good as The Expendables (mainly due to the obvious inclusion of too many call back jokes to the various actors, but still a fun ride. In addition, Jean Claude Van Damme was excellent as the bad guy.
  9. Re: Character: Red Sonya of Rogatino 1. If you're trying to adhere to RAW, then go with the official numbers. 2. I'm not sure what you mean by level of training. Time spent? Official belt ranking? Or something else?
  10. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I watched Clash of the Titans last night. It was... uhm... a lot of spectacle. It also didn't make a lot of sense, mainly because of a lot of plot contradictions. I understand there were scripts closer to the original myths and the like, but the version that finally made it to the big screen was just a mess. On the other hand, the idea of desert nomads traveling around on giant scorpions is an awesome one.
  11. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Let's see... over the past few days I've seen: Alice in Wonderland -- Not bad. Visually stunning with amazing green-screen sets and the like. Captures the inherent weirdness of Underland/Wonderland quite well. Brave -- I liked this a lot. While the trailers made me expect something far more action-heavy, what I did get was just fine. Oh, and visually? Just amazing. The landscapes, lighting, and other effects show Pixar at it's best. Conan the Barbarian -- Wow, this film was... was... not good. I never felt like I was watching something set in Conan's world... in fact, if you told me it was Scorpion King II or something, I'd have believed you. The costuming was pretty enh... there were plot holes galore... the fight choreography was kind silly (way too much sword spinning)... I could go on for a while. Dredd -- Starring Karl Urban as Judge Dredd. Okay, I'll admit, the Stallone film captured the visual style of the comics far better, but this movie really felt like a day in the life of Dredd. Urban never takes the helmet off, scowls through the whole film, states "I am the law", and generally acts a lot like you'd expect Dredd to act. The Princess and the Frog -- Disney returns to its 2-D animation roots and does it with a fun story as well as some nice, catchy music.

  13. Re: In Progress From Blackwyrm Games: Mythic America No.
  14. Re: In Progress From Blackwyrm Games: Mythic America Yes, as well as the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang and Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch.
  15. Re: In Progress From Blackwyrm Games: Mythic America Who?
  16. Re: In Progress From Blackwyrm Games: Mythic America Jesse James is now done. I have started work on James Butler Hickok. Better known as "Wild Bill" Hickok.
  17. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Received The Expendables (Director's Cut) on Blu-Ray. Now I need to set up my new Blu-Ray player. Also received (and watched) The Avengers. Still get giddy at seeing Thanos.
  18. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Ayup. I own Open Range and now want to get Secondhand Lions.

  20. Re: Character: Red Sonya of Rogatino If you go here: http://surbrook.devermore.net/adaptationsbook/bookchar.html#REH you can see all of my REH character adaptations. This should help in establishing the build for your typical REH hero.
  21. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? The Hobbit. Excellently done, although the tension and action level is ramped way up. On the other hand, the dwarfs in the original novel don't exactly do much, so.... (I commented after re-reading The Hobbit about 3 months ago that the dwarfs were exceedingly inept all things considered.)
  22. Re: Character: Red Sonya of Rogatino Go right ahead.
  23. Re: A Thread for Random Videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXLwn23RZAk BTW -- Story of a Sentry was the over-all winner in this year's film awards by Valve.
