Ah... I see Surbrook is back to posting!

Re: Blastolene B-702
I'm not at all fond of the design of the rear end on that car.Maybe it's because you find yourself strangely drawn to it???

Re: Traveller Hero - the soon to be GONE!
Hi there,I just want to stop by to clarify a few things--
1. We do still have quite a long time on this license, and will be publishing Traveller material for quite some time.
2. We currently have at least one other print product in the plans.
3. We will be discussing future plans with the Powers that Be for Traveller when we get closer to the end of the license... customer demand, if it warrants it, can convince the powers that be to do things that may not currently be the plan.
4. We intend to discuss options for continuing to support Star Hero well into the future with the kind folks at DOJ. Even if this support is not 'official' Traveller, players and GMs of Traveller Hero will find the material to be very helpful for their games.
William
Cool... thanks for all the updates guys...

Re: Blastolene B-702
Not bad... I'm thinking this thing would have some Serious distinctive features as well. (And if the game uses PRE or COM for vehicles, a lot of that as well.)

Re: For PAH (or any other genre): A Usefull News Article
Dude, that's just wrong.

Re: What rule don't people know?
Certainly the last part (needing to reroll) is dang hard to remember. I think that was added in 5th? Or did I just never notice it in fourth? Wouldn't be the first time...

Re: Watchman Figs: Maybe not worth the price, but still cool
Lead oxidizes' date=' albeit at a very slow rate. The models end up pitted and textured, and continue to rot away from the inside even after they've been painted.[/quote']Dang... that's fugly. Thanks for the info.

Re: battlestar galactica????
'You got holocaust in my space opera !!""You got space opera in my holocaust !!"
Two great genres that play great together !!!!!
-Carl-
Nicely done.
Yeah... I'd agree.. all the angst of a "man we brought this on ourselves apocalypse" and all the explosions of a show set in space.

Re: Watchman Figs: Maybe not worth the price, but still cool
Those old Grenadier figs are terrible sculpts' date=' and they're made of lead, so they're probably suffering from lead rot.[/quote']Hmmm... not familiar with lead rot, but I think I get the idea.

Re: warhammer 40k Star hero
Sweet...
I was mainly worried that the products would dry up very quickly...

Re: Apartment floor plans
I wonder if this will turn up in the CyberHero game I'm going to play soon.
The GM trolls the boards on a regular basis.

Re: Vehicle DCV... I had no idea
Cool... I'll look forward to it.

Re: Vehicle DCV... I had no idea
Really? I allow that all the time as a GM.(Well, not literally all the time, but frequently. Whenever it makes sense.)
Looks like I should be on a plane to San Jose!

Re: Vehicle DCV... I had no idea
No. FREd = Fifth Rules Edition -- the unrevised 5th Ed.And I've always played that a DCV cannot be below 0 after Range Modifiers and similar factors.
Aha! Aha x2.
As far as I'm concerned you are the end of the line on Matters Vehicular.
Would you mind giving an example for how Size/Range, etc., would interact for a big vehicle?
-
Re: Vehicle DCV... I had no idea
That would be under "Missed And Random Shots' date='" FREd p. 284/5ER p. 423.[/quote']Aren't FRed and 5ER just two different ways of saying the same thing?
FREd=Fifth Revised Edition.
5ER=Fifth Edition Revised.
Also, I looked at the scattering rules you mentioned. (Thank you for sending that along.) But technically they'd only be useful if you missed what your were aiming at, as opposed to missing a small part of something bigger you were aiming at. (ie you hit that destroyer floating beyond the carrier.)
However, yes, you could use this in a pinch or if it seemed to make sense.
For my money, the size differential rules that g-a mentions above are probably the most appropriate for the original situation I brought up.

Re: Traveller Hero - the soon to be GONE!
Thanks for the info, guys...
I'll definitely pick up some of these.

Re: What rule don't people know?
I don't really see it being a problem with a game if someone who is vastly strong can hold on to someone who isn't. I would think that's a rather appropriate feature' date=' not a bug.[/quote']I think there's a caveat somewhere in the Grab rules that expresses as much. (ie if you're silly-much stronger than someone else your DCV doesn't necessarily get halved.)

Re: Starting a new game
Thanks for the love Spidey!

Re: Vehicle DCV... I had no idea
done & done!
sounds like a set of rules that nicely cover the problem.

Re: Starting a new game
POD baby.
yeah.

Re: WWI Battleship
I based the 1SPD on the notion that firing a broadside every 12 seconds is a pretty good rate for back then. The x8ncm means that it takes a battleship 96 seconds to go from dead in the water to full speed. Not sure if that's accurate...About the guns? I based the damage off my old copy of Golden Age Champions. It had a 37mm gun do 3 1/2 d6 and a 75mm gun do 4d6+1. From this I extrapolated that every 20mm = +1DC
Im not exactly a huge fan of warships, but I needed one for a scenario Im working on and I was disappointed to find that neither FRed, GAC, or Pulp Hero had a proper write-up for one. I suppose if you want something done right...
Cool, good to know your thinking on that. I wonder if the The Ultimate Vehicle or the Vehicle Sourcebook have something like.

Re: Vehicle DCV... I had no idea
Heh.Also ... while DCV may never go below Zero, there are rules for providing OCV Bonuses based on size difference...
Aha.
I'll have to dig around for that.

Re: WWYCD: The Nightmare on Hero Street
Old CorPse would be more than happy if this clown could kill him. (Hasn't worked with any one else.) Hell, he might try to find a way to stay asleep much longer than normal...
Eventually this Nightmare guy will get bored, which usually happens when a particular villain gets a bug up his ass about old CorPse-y. And when he gets bored, he's going to let his guard down...
