  1. Re: NBC Revolution Owning a firearm when you're a civilian is a hanging offense. A couple of civilians still had them. The captain's pistol was a modern firearm; at least it could fire multiple shots.
  2. Re: The cranky thread I've had it with this POS. I should have kicked his ass tonight. Hell, I went back to where he was to do just that. A-hole had already left the scene, but there's always tomorrow.
  3. Re: The cranky thread I'm going to kick someone's ass tomorrow, and the bastard fully deserves it.
  4. Re: NBC Revolution I thought it was okay. It's worth tuning in for a few episodes to see how it turns out. At least they explained why not too many people have firearms. The sword fighting scene was pretty good; I hope to see some unarmed martial arts thrown into the mix as well.

  11. Re: The cranky thread They're starting to cut my hours again. I'm going to raise a big stink on Monday.
  12. Re: A Thread for Random Musings It was Saturday morning in San Francisco. A thick layer of fog covered the city, as it usually did in the early morning. I'd rather have stayed home, but I had business to finish, so I found myself pounding my feet against the pavement. The wind was cold, and it made me glad I had my trenchcoat and fedora to keep me warm. The road took me to one of the ritzy parts of town. Tudor-style homes predominated, although quite a few had a more Mediterranean flavor. Shady trees and multi-colored flowers covered the lawns. It's as if I stepped into one of those story books I used to read as a kid. Of course, I'm sure the people who stay here don't exactly lead fairy-tale lives. But that's none of my business, and no one is paying me to find out anyway. I try to keep a low profile in places like this, as some folks get suspicious of scruffy-looking outsiders. Having forgotten to shave, I looked even scruffier than normal. But I knew these streets; I've walked them countless times already, so I know which places to avoid, and where it's okay to pass through, as long as you don't snoop around too conspicuously. It was unusually busy for a Saturday morning. The sidewalks were mostly empty, but a lot of automobiles drove past me. I heard the propeller of an aeroplane overhead, but the fog hid it from view. I passed a few people, but most of them didn't want to stop and say hello. Never mind; I was almost at my destination, and it was time to get to work.

  15. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Well, considering the story is rife with incest, murder, and betrayal (for starters), it's not exactly family-oriented to begin with, which is why I doubt Disney would even touch it. But let's not forget the title of this thread. Edit: Watching the Ring Cycle on PBS made me want to start a campaign based on Norse or Germanic mythology.
