Biden and Co. have surprised all of us with how much farther they've already gone than what anyone expected. Some have credited the influence of Bernie Sanders for that. But I don't think we should discount what they may still accomplish, particularly if the Democrats gain control of both houses of Congress. American society is not what it was four years ago, or eight years ago. Perceptions of the urgencies in the world have evolved, perceptions of American society and politics have evolved, and a new generation is entering the voting arena.
 
I've lived through quite a few anticipated crises that never materialized, or were ameliorated when we finally found the wisdom and will to do so. I refuse to throw in the towel over a possibility, because the moment we give up is when we definitively lose.

The solution is to not give in to despair.
 
If Trump loses -- and I have great hope that he will -- it could get quite bad. Will it be worse than a decade of civil rights conflicts? Or a decade of great depression? Or four years of civil war?
 
I have faith that America will eventually find its way out of whatever it faces, because it has proven itself resilient time after time.

They do make things interesting for an exploratory game. Was thinking about that for a possible age of exploration game.

I have just recently rerurned to playing with hex flowers.  This dovetails nicely.
 
 

Murder Can Hurt You is another good one. It lampoons TV detectives from the 1970s the way Murder By Death spoofs literary sleuths.

Have you ever seen Murder By Death? It lampoons murder mystery tropes in much the same way.
 
 
 
So far, I feel the best bit of Lower Decks was the crossover episode with Strange New Worlds. Especially Commander Ransom's comment about Number One being "the hottest First Officer in the fleet".

What happens if you step into the Fire Fall? Gain super-powers? Transport to another world? Release a powerful spirit? Something beyond getting wet, as it is obviously an intensely magical event.

Okay, everybody take a deep breath. The sky is not falling.   First of all, the SCOTUS will hear arguments on this case in the third week in April. That's a fast-track, meaning that unless the court drags its feet on the trial to an incredible degree, a ruling will still happen before the general election. Trump did not want that. Second, Trump is arguing that a US President is immune to criminal prosecution for any and all actions taken while in office. That is incredibly, dangerously broad to try to get through any court, regardless of its bias. Third, the court is aware that any ruling about Presidential immunity that applies to Donald Trump, also applies to Joe Biden, and any actions he might take.
 
The SCOTUS may wish to establish the appeals court ruling as universally applicable, ending the controversy. Or it may wish to define the limitations of presidential immunity. The mere fact that it's hearing the case does not automatically mean it will rule in Trump's favor.

This is at least more encouraging.
 
 

I run multiple PC groups in my solo campaign. I just ran a game, and it ended with the second TPK for characters on their maiden adventure. Maybe I should create a folder for dead characters.
 
I will use TSR's Elves of Alfheim Gazeteer and transplant it to my world. Wood Elves now inhabit Muir Woods. The High Elves are making wine in Napa.
 
Here's my lazy GM method for detailing the setting. It keeps things easy.
* What's the date of the adventure? Look at the calendar.
* What's the weather like? Look out the window.
* What time is it? Look at the clock.

I just hope that’s all it takes. 

Those "Choose Your Own Adventure" endings were hardcore.
