I remember the original series well, and I've always wondered if the Thunderbirds Vehicles and the Eagle from Space 1999 helped inspire the Modular Cutter of traveller fame. the vehicles and modules wont be hard to duplicate, ya gotta wonder how much equipment they had on the island that never saw use.

after making liberal use of the 40K hero conversion rules I found on this site http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/markdoc/Inquisitor/inquistor_weapons.htm I added a bunch of weapons from the Tau codex and both imperial armour books that werent covered on that excellent site.

Re: Need small starship deck plans if you dont mind a little fudging, theres a great book of starship designs and deckplans, although designed for use with GURPS Traveller, you could easily use them for Star Hero, these plans use squares. but since 1 GT/Traveller square is really close to 2 Hero Hexes, its easy enough to work with. the book is called 101 Starships, and is a free download even and it has ships from small fighters to battleships heres a link to where you can download a copy http://www.freelancetraveller.com/features/shipyard/

Re: SF Novels for Star Hero? IMHO one of the best of the Bolo stories is from the book called "The Old Guard" the final story in the book is about a pair of Bolos that act like brothers named Andrew and Hank... it was written by William H Keith, whos written gaming stuff for traveller and battletech among other things for years and is dedicated to his brother Andrew, who had passed away suddenly its a personal favorite of mine
