  1. Re: Can you look this character over When you got to the part about senses, you were asking how to duplicate a jedi's sense. So it was around that time it was given away.
  2. Re: Power Concept: Along for the Ride Thats pretty good, duplication that locks out a multipower or a whole group of powers and stats. The duplicate could be a simple but maybe competent normal or not...
  3. Re: Can you look this character over I have been watching you gather information for this character for about 2 weeks, that is I think it has been about that long. I am glad you showed us the results of all the research you were doing. His speed is pretty high, I am not sure what is mid-range in your campaign but if you are on the top end or above he would play defensively dodging attacks and reflecting range attack back at opponents. Because of his lack of resistant defenses he is a character that would think before he acted (sounds very jedi-ish). Seeing how his main defense is having a 29DEX and Missile Reflection I think I would rather have those 2lvls w/DCV in his Missile Reflection. That way he could use them offensively also.

Re: Power Concept: Along for the Ride Buy extra stats or use aid power with range and transdimensional, target benefactor of power, activate power (power is active but is limited- only active when character is in next dimension), character then has to go to next dimension (which is inside target). Effect is Suit of Armor 30 Aid 1d6, Only works through dimensions (+0), Ranged (+1/2), Transdimensional (Single Dimension; +1/2), [four powers] simultaneously (+1) (30 Active Points)

Re: Game Mechanics I agree with the "take off the always on" if this is a power a GM would allow a player to have, that way the player could have normal interactions with team mates without the GM having to step in and break the immersion of the story. If this power seems too custom for a hawking rule hardy GM (err, not trying to be derogatory) then I think an AE transform and or Mind Control would be the way to go. Overall, I wouldn’t want the power to work on machines or cameras because if he could be recorded interacting with others that would allow for some VERY interesting scenarios.
  8. A friend was talking to me about some character he seen or heard about the other day. People he meets and interacts with completely forget about him as soon as he walks away, they have no memory of anything that had to do with him. So, I was just wondering, could you make this power in champions simply by using; 27 Invisibility to Memory Group , No Fringe, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Persistent (+1/2) (40 Active Points); Always On (-1/2)
  9. Re: PRE Attacks A lot of good ideas here, I particularly like the combat modifier idea Ghost Angel mentioned because it will leave how a player responds up to them but still provide a negative game mechanic as a side effect of being PRE attacked.
  10. Presence attacks, in our Super Heroic setting the characters like getting off a presence attack now and then but when a villain uses them it puts the players in a bad mood. It seems they can be slapped around with energy bolts and death rays without much of a problem but as soon as a villain uses his commanding aura or superior tactical advantage in making a presence attack it kills most if not all the jovial and/or entertainment out of the game. So, I have been wondering how others (GMs) handle PRE attacks in their games, maybe limiting them to PC use or some other approach? Maybe I just been around too many temperamental players?

My new character has Images power vs touch sense fully inv power effects and I have been thinking of many, many things that I could do with a power like that…(long pause needed here) Anyway, in combat I plan on using the power to distract opponents and out of combat the uses seem unlimited. So, I am still coming up with ways to use the power but was wondering if anyone here had any ideas I would welcome them.

  14. Re: Energiser Bunny Effect I don't think your idea is broken, actually, I like it a lot. Like others have said your character is a Brick archtype but not typical... pretty cool I would say.

  16. Re: Energiser Bunny Effect I know the Hero System isn't perfect but one of my favorite aspects of the game is its continuity and virtual organic nature that I find intuitive. (Here comes the big BUT) The Maximum Effect and/or Once-Per-Day guideline on Healing power because of the potential abusive nature of the power is the exception. It's one of the few powers that instead of putting a stop sign warning on the power the warning was configured into the definition.

  18. Re: Energiser Bunny Effect I think Doc's idea simulates the effect you are looking for or as some have said having a high CON. The character you are describing sounds like someone with a high BODY, STUN, and/or REC.
  19. Re: What advantages apply when calculating DCs? I am sorry to add to the mess but there is some scary stuff going on here. As far as the original post goes I can see your point and I am going to avoid saying it is up to the GM to determine what is directly affecting. So since I am not going to say that I will reiterate, you got a point there.

  21. Re: Is this a limitation or a power? Don't use always on limitation, instead define a new limitation on your persistent damage shield. Lose control without ring and power becomes always on -1/4 Then you can make another attack Surpress Fire Powers with a condition that target must wear ring. Or you could use independent limitation if you dont mind the risk involved with that.
  22. Re: Simulate Death I never thought about using suppress that way, I really like the suspended animation device. I can hardly believe I am entertaining the idea of using multiform but I started thinking that a person could define the multiform as a corpse like body but still have all thier mental facilities.
  23. I was speaking with a friend yesterday about one of the characters in his game and a Simulate Death effect came up. Well, some how we started talking about the talent and other ways to simulate the effect in order to make it a more guaranteed outcome. My friend had a couple quick ideas that seemed pretty cool, His first idea was to use Shapeshift power duplicate the effect. His second idea was to use Multiform (into a corpse). My original idea was to use the power outlined under simulate death (invisibility). Besides the last thought do any of the other ideas seem valid enough not to break immersion? Or someone has some other ideas?
  24. Re: Lower Water and Part Water I agree with Doc when it comes to the definition of this power. I could even imagine using the default level of change environment with some extended area to duplicate the effect.
