I stole terribly from the music I was listening to at the time: The bard was named Lord Osbourne, And his concubine was Lita. A castle made of basalt: a song of epic slumber and race of minions who could only be harmed by healing magics (they were benign besides that). Those were the days Of 20 hour games only with breaks for the bathroom and a McD's run ( lemme get this straight , you want 35 cheeseburgers 10 of them plain).

Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Confit usually means something slowly cooked in fat ( usually its own). Makes for rich and tender (and deliciously unhealthy) foods. Those tacos sound amazing.

Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore I have used speck that was so lean it looked like dryed ham...no visible fat. The Hungarian style I believe is a bit fattier and comes with all varieties of paprika (sweet. hot, or smoked). If the one you are using has a nice bacon-like streak of fat it should do well for barding I would guess.

Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore IIRC, Speck is more along the lines of prosciutto. Usually drier and leaner than bacon. If your looking to get some of the flavor ...I might suggest under the skin with the speck, but I would still use bacon on the outside.

Re: The Treasure Thread An Artifact/remnant/relic: The forearm and hand of a powerful long dead paladin of great renown , it contains his spirit and requests a chance to continue on "fighting the good fight" It quests the group with the task of inlaying the bones with a (long sword, bastard sword, 2-handed sword) thus making an intelligent weapon (boosting a paladins abilities, or adding a few new ones. . This obviously won't work as well, if the team is a band of scoundrels. Good quest for a paladin type to get a special holy avenger.

I tried chitlins...once, that's all it took I don't believe they were cleaned well enough...I found a peice of corn in mine....overactive imagination kicked into over drive, and I was losing my dinner in about 5 minutes.
