1. That was my original thought, but every time I look over the Advantage in 6th edition, I get a headache... I can usually figure something confusing out by fiddling around in Hero Designer, but when I pull UOO up in my version of HD, it doesn't match the book...
2. So if teleporting the staff is just a special effect, no need to spend points on it...? That makes it easier...
3. A bit more... He cut the staff from a tree he owns... The tree came from another dimension... He spent some time there as well, which is how he got the tree... The only way to disrupt his power is to destroy the staff itself... Then he has to cut another one to replace it... So I would say Physical Manifestation, not a Focus... He can throw the staff, and then teleport there to cover distance... But it works much better just to alternate blinking himself and the staff, rapidly, to move over distance...
4. Okay, he can teleport the staff, with any change of orientation he wants, as long as it finishes touching him... He can teleport himself, with any change of orientation/position he wants, as long as he finishes touching the staff... This means you can't really take the staff away from him, so it isn't a focus... It also makes him extremely mobile in a hand-to-hand combat... It also isn't possible to pin or immobilize his weapon, and he can get shots in from angles that would otherwise be impossible...
5. I'm trying to convert an old Villains & Vigilantes character into Champions, and having a bit of a problem with the changes to Usable On Others... The character has a 6 foot long staff, is a Master of Bojutsu, and can teleport his staff about, as long as it winds up in contact with him... The idea is this lets him do really weird, wonky things with it in the middle of a fight... But the myriad options for UOO give me a headache, and the version of it in my copy of Hero Designer doesn't match the book... Does anyone have experience with the new version of the advantage...?
6. I had an NPC named Stanley Steamer... The Inventor of the Stanley Steamer Armor... The Armor, and all its gadgetry was Steam Powered...
7. Lucifer would begin translating downward momentum of the skyship into lateral momentum... If he can get the skyship to miss the city itself, he'd count that as a win...
8. Actually, I just have a no range blast surface area effect feeding from the END Reserve, to reflect the heat of the hammer, that's Always On... It empties the Reserve without the need for a leak...
9. I have an NPC that I'm having trouble converting over to 6th edition. He had a hammer, and whenever he hit things with it, any damage stopped by the PD of whatever he hit caused the hammer to heat up and become hot. In prior versions of the game, I did this with absorption into an END Reserve, and the Reserve fed a power proportionally linked to the Reserve. I don't see any way to do this with the way the rules for Absorption are written in 6th Edition... Any suggestions...?
10. Hmmm... Maybe the aging would be the special effect for the NND damage... Call it System Shock... When his metabolism comes back to normal, he makes a CON roll, and takes NND damage from the System Shock if he fails...
11. Try it as a compound power in Hero Designer...
12. Hmmm... Maybe a failed CON roll ages him a year...?
13. I'm pretty much assuming LTE costs are what killed him, at this point...
14. I only have Champions Complete, not the full blown 6th Edition rules, but there's something I can't find... The entry for Characteristics as Powers say Perceivability: Varies... But the info for individual Characteristics doesn't mention the quality at all... So what is the default Perceivability of Strength and other characteristics?
15. I think you're right... His movement was all at Zero END, and I had Side Effects on his last 4 Noncombat Multiples, and also on a Variable Power Pool just for Incredibly Fast Speed Effects, but I couldn't build the Side Effects in a way that would let him do the Marathon Run... (The original version of the character dated back to 4th Edition...) So I changed the Side Effect out for only having Half Endurance, and I think that'll work better... Thanks for your thoughts...
16. He's a Legend... But I do need a build for him, since I have a Time Travel Arc planned...
17. Yes, except it was more a matter of him getting a control crystal to New York City, so the Alien Antimatter Reactor didn't destabilize and explode...
18. Well, he's a historical character... Running to from New York to Los Angeles, and back, in half an hour, was what ultimately killed him... He was biologically in his 90s at the time...
19. He performs at around 400 times faster than normal
20. I don't see any examples of Minor, Major, or Extreme effects under the Side Effect Limitation... Would you categorize accelerated aging while using extreme amounts of superspeed as Major or Extreme...?
21. The Character from the TV series MASH... What disadvantages would you assign to him...? Working on a character conversion, and I'd like something a bit more clear than just putting "Frank Burns" as the name of the Disadvantage...
22. Re: Record Sheets My attempt at a Base Sheet... The mapping grid on the back uses 1 meter triangles... The grid on the front is intended to be 4 meter triangles, to allow mapping the grounds of a base, if desired... I can easily modify this... Anyone have any comments on what they would change...?
23. Has anyone come up with a record sheet for Bases yet, for 6th Edition...?
24. Re: Variable Power Pools... In which case, that would be a pool cost of 60, and a control cost of 30 before applying the Limitations for Mimic...
