  1. Re: Ultimate Wonder Twins There have been a lot of excellent ideas, but I think, if you want to bring in the people that watched the original Super Friends, the above statement would be the best way to go. Keep It Simple and close to the original. Just try put them in better situations so that their powers shine! [side thought] I loved seeing Spider-Man being close to what I remember of the comics. Yea, the maker of the film has Artistic-License to change things but he doesn't have to use it. But what ever is done, please, for the love of all that is good, DON"T make the pet monkey into a sex slave. [/side Thought] Even if the you don't care about the original viewers, there is still much that can be done with the twins original powers (both visual, and in respect to the story line.) If you did want to expand on their powers you can do something like the picts ChaosDrgn posted. Make it so that the Wonder Twins don't have to fully transform. Just one small idea. Drakkenkin

  4. Re: Deadly Blow talent too powerful? That is a Good point. Nevertheless, nothing personal against KS, but it seems to be a mantra for some people on this board. Like someone’s not going to do what he or she want because another person tells them they don't think it's the best idea. I always get the feeling when people say that they mean, your idea makes about as much since as a bicycle with square wheels, but if you will not see it the way I do then go for it. Once again these options are in no way "lock-step thinking" any more then not allowing your player to as just creating a new power or talent just so he can have an ability at a lower cost. In fact I think people would agree with me that having a spell system, in heroes, that works off spells per day is more "lock-step thinking" then saying you need to pay more then DB. Notwithstanding my post, it's your game, do whatever you like with it. (Not like you wouldn't ) I would now post how I would ask players to build this type of power, but the ideas I would use have already been posted. Trule this is not ment as a flame. I like the material you have put out KS. All of it is usefull to MANY people that play FH. Drakkenkin
  5. Re: Transfer power and me Thanks for your ideas on the subject. I'll keep them in mind durring the game. Drakkenkin
  6. I have a player that would like to make a PC have their main power (almost only power) be transfer (150/75 points characters.) When ever I look at that power I think it could easy cause an imbalance in the game. If the target is with out power defense (as most don't), point for point, a transfer attack is more powerful then a KA, ... or am I over reacting. I know as the GM I could put out more enemies or just give enemies power defense, but I don't want to do that. It doesn’t seem right to do that just to make the PC less powerful. What are some GMs and players experience using transfer in a game? Thanks Drakkenkin
  7. Re: Deadly Blow talent too powerful? I don't have FH, but I would like to understand better how this Deadly Blows (DB) thing works. If DB adds to the bace damage, you have 1 level in DB, and you had a 2d6 weapon could you max out the damage to 6d6 with STR? (2d6 wep. + 1d6 DB + 3d6 STR) Drakkenkin
  8. Re: Ncm:15 I have to agree. It's not a easy life, but I find it more fun, and you can see noticable growth to the charicters earlyer on in the game. Drakkenkin
  9. Re: Ncm:15 Well, it would only effect the Elves ability to hit an object at a longer rang. Not THAT over powering or awe inspiring, but a nice perk. Anyway, I don't follow the line of thinking of all races being equal in their capabilities. It's a nice warm and fuzzy idea, but humans can't even perform all tasks equally. (Heck, I can't swim worth a jack, and I live by the sea, but their are many people I know who can swim just fine.) Why would other races be equal in how well they could do tasks with other races? I like carry the feeling that some races are better at some tasks more then other races throughout out the lives of the PC, not just as a thought for character creation and the first set of games. After which everyone morphs into the same thing. (They my look different on the out side (races), but they are the same on the inside (abilities.)
  10. Re: Slayers 5E Writeups Thought this seems to be accurate (I didn't run the numbers), according to the medical reports my wife has read to me eggs have a shelf life and tend to go stale (even while they are still in the ovaries.) Pregnancy begins to become more difficult after the age of 28. A bit young in my opinion, but that's what the reports stated. (Nevertheless, she could easily have some magic to take care of this.) That said, and with five whole episodes under my belt, I would side with ... I don't know. If mages beget mages then I would say magic power decreases as a portion of it is given to the babe. Otherwise, magic power would increase, but using that extra magic may have adverse effects on the babe as you are drawing on its life force... more or less. It may not be able to take the strain of trying to grow and being used to boost the mother’s magic. The use of magic during pregnancy may be frowned upon.
  11. Re: Campaign Brainstorming: "The New Abbey" Do you plan on running a game in this world durring DDCon? Drakkenkin
  12. Re: Ambrethel Map in Free Stuff No I don't. I use to, but I lost the pen during a move. It's an older pad and I haven't been able to find a replacement. I loved it when I had it, but all I have now are the memories. Drakkenkin
  13. Re: Ambrethel Map in Free Stuff It seems that I'm never able to get that nice of quality out of Photoshop. I guess I need to get better at it. Thanks for letting me know. Drakkenkin
  14. Re: Ambrethel Map in Free Stuff What program did you use to make the map? Looks Nice. Drakkenkin
  15. Re: Galactic Coordinates I would think it would be best to use Spherical Coordinates. So just use another angle. (P, theta, Phi) P = distance theta = angle along the galatic plain (earth could be 0 degrees) Phi = the angle above or below the Galactic plain. Drakkenkin
  16. Re: Campaign Brainstorming: "The New Abbey" I hope you don't mine me countering your thought on this, but here is is anyway. I would make sure you use the correct words in Latin as much as possible. I think you are right about the language drifting in it pronunciation. Heck, the English language has changed so much that if you went back in time to the middle ages you would not be able to understand them, and that is a lot less time then 100,000 years, but for the players (if they getting into it) it will add another level of realism, and therefore help suspend disbelief. I would think you would want to portray what they wanted to say not what was really said. I guess if you wanted to go the rough of showing how the language has changed you could come up with new slang terms and pronunciations. That could be fun too. Drakkenkin
  17. Re: Campaign Brainstorming: "The New Abbey" I was avoiding doing my statics work again and I though, it would make sense that the clergy would have some form of specialization in the tasks that they perform, much like people do today with their jobs. Then I thought of the cloistered monks and priests of old. I always think of them going through old manuscripts and the like. You could do something like that in your campaign but instead of them going through old books they could be decked out with cyberware to alow them to quickly search through their databases (much like Jacker in ShadowRun.) There is more to the thought but I really should get back to me work. I know it’s not much, but hay, hope it gives you some ideas. Drakkenkin
  18. Re: Campaign Brainstorming: "The New Abbey" It did in a most complete and satisfying way! That is a very appropriate name for them. Thanks, Drakkenkin
  19. Re: Preistly "Domains" Help, Please Okay, got it. Sounds cool. Drakkenkin
  20. Re: Priestly "Domains" Help, Please what effect does the Change Enviroment do? How does it function as a Village Ward? Drakkenkin
  21. Re: Special Materials You wouldn't happen to have a typed up list like this would you? Drakkenkin
  22. Re: Campaign Brainstorming: "The New Abbey" Neo-Luddite, who would that be? Drakkenkin
  23. Re: Campaign Brainstorming: "The New Abbey" I just thought of something. We were once talking about another faction that thinks Tech. is evil. They my be able to get to other planets by way of organic life that can live in space. It could be done like Farscape's organic ship (intrusive,) or like riding the Worms in Dune (non intrusive.) End Of Thought Drakkenkin Life is Stranger than Fiction.
  24. Re: Campaign Brainstorming: "The New Abbey" Another way would be to use a Tesla idea, where energy to power a device can be broad casted and received much like a radio wave. You can also see this concept in the move 'Independence - Day.' The aliens fighters only have power when the mother ship is close. (at least thats how I saw it.) The equipment could be made with Zero end but with a disadd that only allows it to be used w/ in a given range of a power emitter. Drakkenkin
