  1. Re: Adventures of The Noble Foundation Not only did you have time to run this game for so many, you had time to write it up? You never sleep do you! Keep 'em coming!
  2. Re: Crucial Help Needed We have one very confrontational rules lawyer in our group. Our two GM's (who switch off evry 6 or so months) always go through a few weeks "adjustment" period where they forget they need to be very firm with this person. Some games get bogged into fighting about rules and I just get up and go to bed early. In order to make it fun for all, EVERYONE needs to understand that in order for the game to work, EVERYONE has to "play". If a PC doesn't follow the GM's plot hooks, they miss the game that night. If that happened a few times to the Combat Monster, he might rethink. What about a series of games without combat? Try to develop the characters. For the other one (Limitation Lass was a good name!), have her come over early and tell her up front that this character isn't working the way it's written in your game. Don't forget, it's YOUR game. You can stop and start it any time you want. If you missed something on their character sheets, that doesn't mean you approved it, it means you missed it. If something isn't working the way you thought it worked, you are welcome to say, "This is the way it works in my world". It is your world, the sky doesn't have to be blue if you don't want it to!
  3. Re: Hero System women are all insanely attractive Why thank you! I know, it was hard to keep up with some people here but they're not here any more and only the truely beautiful ones are left. Nice to type you all here ladies! Whaddya mean it wasn't a personal comment? We are beautiful! Oh, I see...

  5. Re: Inspirational Reading Well, this is where I'd post a big THANK YOU big, get it? to Steve for bringing a few books to DDC for me. Thanks for being so thoughtful! Now when Keith goes to a bookstore to pick up new copies of the books you gave him but he can't find, I'll read them and tell you what I thought! Fortunately for him it was a "no fault" weekend. He had fun, that's all that counts!
  6. Re: Inspirational Reading You're right of course, I had forgotten as I read them some time ago. And there goes my actual trilogy theory too. For any women GM's, try Laurel K. Hamilton. The stories were really good at the beginning of the series and at the end you get nothing but incredibly kinky sex.
  7. Re: Inspirational Reading Okay Steve and Eosin, you've sold me. I've always liked books on "the darker side" (drives Keith "Mr. Goody Two Shoes" Curtis crazy!). Should I start with the Burke series? I looked up the link and it looks very interesting! Now as not to derail this thread into book recommendations for me, Jim Butcher wrote a trilogy (actually 3 books!) called "The Dresden Files". It's a modern day world of Supernatural. Quite funny in parts! The main character is a wizardy, PI, computer geek. I named my external hard drive "Bob" ofter a character in these books.
  8. Re: Inspirational Reading Wha? Who? That sonds like my kinda book! More details please!
  9. Re: An odd question I'm with you Whamme!
  10. Re: An odd question More that 300 actually. But that is really me! (Large breasts take you a long way!)
  11. Re: An odd question Nope, I'd be a Super Villan. I know how the world should be run and I'd make sure it ran the way I wanted.
  12. Re: Hooray for Newbies! why are you suddenly here? I'm not really new, I've been reading over my husbands shoulders for a long time. Thought I'd post when Mightybec wanted to know what we all looked like (can't direct you there, I took it off). BTW, Basil, I like you sig!
  13. Re: What should be DROPPED from HERO? I'll have to loo9k into these... thanks!
  14. Re: What should be DROPPED from HERO? I have an elf in a fantasy campaign who's main (only) wepon is a bow. She has a 5 speed and high dex and is usually first on the comat grid. However, whenever my turn is called, I reply, "Holding." If I take my action, I am at 1/2 DVC for everyone elses action (and the bad guys would cream me if they could catch me). I hate doing it because I think it is playing the rules against the game but I don't want to die either! I'm not sure if the 1/2 DCV after bowshot should be removed, but perhaps something should be done to make it more fair?
