Re: Genre-crossover nightmares
Gerry Andersen's Star WarsI'd pay good money to see this.

The rest of the site is pretty cool as well, but the keenest thing on it was the Random Pulp Science Fiction Title Generator from Cornelius Zappencackler's DERANGE-O-LAB: http://thrilling-tales.webomator.com/derange-o-lab/title-o-tron.shtml.
Given how much Pulp Adventure relies of standard tropes and cliches, having a good title is darn near having a plot.

Re: Genre-crossover nightmares
we'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that this half hour of
THE DRIZZT MORNING SHOWis brought to you by
DRIDOLthe herbal elixir that helps dark-elven womenget comfortably through that special time.Cause when you've got eight legs and a thorax,
that's a crapload of bloating and cramping, let me tell ya.
Drip the Dark Elf doesn't exist in my world-view.

Re: Batman meets Doc Savage
Yep, and you know the BEST thing.......It's March. First Wave is HERE!!!! And it's GREAT!
~Rex
Well, it was OK. I wouldn't call it great, but it's mostly the portrayal of the Spirit that's bugging me.

Re: Star Mapping software: You call THIS progress?
Are you familiar with this project? http://www.solstation.com/
I'm not sure how far along they are, but what they've been doing is recreating chview in Java, so it should run just fine on your new PC.

Re: Star Wars licence news...
I think what Peregrine is saying is that having an ongoing Star Wars RPG on the market' date=' that someone is paying you a fee for, amounts to someone paying LucasFilm to market LF's brand for them -- that even if they sold the license for $10, it would be a win for LucasFilm.[/quote']Except that the earned income from the license must be enough for LucasFilm to justify the cost of vetting and approving all materials created under the license. Having someone "market your brand" is only a good thing if they do it the way you want it done.

Re: My Heroes Have Always Been GIANTS! (Long)
I always thought is was funny that he claimed his power was actually shrinking (he's naturally huge).Isn't his power technically Shrinking though? I thought he gets bigger if he's knocked out... (Trigger for Growth' date=' since actually giving him Shrinking probably screws things up)[/quote']This was only in the "Threeboot" version of the team (the Mark Waid > Tony Bedard > Jim Shooter series). In all prior (and the upcoming future) incarnation of the book he was a regular Earth-born human who acquired the power to grow due to "exposure to weird radiation".

Re: 7 Sci-Fi Series Ripe for Movie Reboots
Ah' date=' Anthony Rogers crawls out of the rip-van-winkle cave to find people jumping around with intertron antigravity belts and using rocket guns on the Mongol repellor ray ships. I'd watch that.[/quote']And on that topic... http://www.quietearth.us/articles/2009/12/02/Impressive-teaser-for-BUCK-ROGERS-in-the-25th-Century-webseries

If you'll excuse me, I need a little alone time now.

Re: 7 Sci-Fi Series Ripe for Movie Reboots
Buck Rogers reboot? Nope. What I want is an actual movie or TV adaptation of the Buck Rogers comic strip (Gil Gerard was not Buck).

Re: What's Up With These Protestors? (2 parts)
A. They're obviously protesting the fact that our heroes have not flown across the Atlantic and "taken care of" der Fuhrer.
B. (I'm the GM so I don't have a character, so...) I'm sure at least of the heroes would calmly explain the crowd that Roosevelt has specifically tasked them with protecting the homefront, but they're sure that our boys in Europe will give those ratzis the thumping they deserve.

Re: A Storeowner's First Impression
While as I noted I have known people who liked that' date=' I wouldn't play anything outside of a Con game or the like with a character that I didn't create myself. Most of the people I've gamed with have felt the same, though there have of course been the few exceptions...[/quote']I prefer to make my own character, and know many people who do also - but I have also been in groups where it was not uncommon for me to look around the table and realize that I had built every character in play (and, oddly enough, I wasn't the GM).

Re: And 6e print books start to arrive
Current status is "OUT FOR DELIVERY" in the city I live in. Should be waiting for me when I get home.Yay!
As anticipated, mine (along with the APG which had been ordered separately) was sitting at home waiting for me when I arrived. Pity I spent all night doing homework (and let me tell you, to be ding homework at my age is a crime all by itself). Should provide hours of reading this weekend.
