  2. Re: [splinter thread] I have a problem with the way it is done: Dispel Foci I would definitely call that charges on a ranged HKA.
  3. Re: [splinter thread] I have a problem with the way it is done: Dispel Foci Yeah, that would be abusive. But looking at the rule (FRED, 309), it heavily implies that the doublings are for back-ups, not for usuable-in-combat powers. If you want two multipower rings that are usuable at the same time, you have to buy both multipowers. Following that the extra item rule is based off the extra vehicle rule (in fact, it is the extra vehicle rule), I would say it's very fair to rule that you can't use two of the same object in much the way you can't drive two cars or be in two bases. So like the rings, each is generating the same instance of FF, so you'd have 4 rings generating the same 15 PD/15 ED field. Because you are doubling the number of objects, not the power itself. And rightfully so, considering how many 3's you'd have to roll to do that (assuming you use the "3 always hits" rule). Because you are at -3 OCV with the 2nd attack (off-hand), -5 OCV with the third, -7 OCV with the fourth, and -127 OCV with the final attack! Also, in all of your examples, you got the doublings wrong. It goes x2, x4, x8, x16, so like in your FF Ring example, at 20 points that's 16 rings. I love it when a well laid plan completely falls apart.

  7. Re: Did you kill Malone? A Telepathic Lie Detector is cheap. But real Telepathy, 12d6 or so, allows for some pretty wicked effects. EGO +50 result: Implant deep memories with no trace of act. I have used this ability to implant memories of entire affairs and long personal relationships. In one game, a power telepath insinuated himself into the group by implanting memories of friendship in the entire team that went back for years. When they tried to think about him, all they could remember was all the good times they had with him, how he had always had their back, etc. One of the female characters even remember their torrid love affair and the deep affection she still felt for him. Of course, none of them had ever met the guy before. They invited him right into their base, set him up, let him tag along on some missions, and were totally shocked when their "best friend" sold them out to a villain group (which ultimately led to the destruction of their base). Telepathy is almost always used as a lie detector, sometimes as a messaging system, but rarely if ever is it put to real, creative purposes.
  8. Re: Superhero Images I am choosing to see this as an opportunity and reason to work on finishing my Jet City Champions website, which I've been very lazy about thanks to this board.
  9. Re: Character For Review Did you know there's a maximum cap on stats in Hero Designer? I did not know that...until I made this character.
  10. Re: [splinter thread] I have a problem with the way it is done: Dispel Foci The funny thing about that is: Of my four current players, NONE of them knows how to create a character. NONE of them owns a copy of the rulesbook. NONE of them is interested in learning how to make characters. I designed all of their character, in terms of point builds. I even created the backgrouds of two of them.

She has a kind, easy-going manner, developed after years of sitting next to beds tendingt ot he dying and desperate. She takes healing very seriously, and is completely committed to non-violence.Quote:(whispered) "Hush now, there is nothing to fear. Take my hand, and you will see that there is no injury that cannot be healed, even those wounds you carry int he depths of your soul."Background: Emily Queen was the first woman in her family to attend college, in 1954. She went to Havard, and became a doctor. She was one of the best doctors Harvard ever produced, and easily the best female doctor in her time. Emily was a very rational, skeptical person. She prided herself on being an athiest, and not believing in anything but cold, hard science. Then Emily's mother took ill, and begun a slow detrioration. She died ever so slowly, over the course of months. Emily exhausted every resource medical science had to offer trying to save her mother, to no avail. Finally, on the verge of despondancy, Emily turned to "alternative theories". She scoured the globe, learning all she could about "other" ways of healing. She was ultimately unable to save her mother, but the experience changed her greatly. She began a active supporter of alternative medicine, and opened her own clinic. She studied everything on the subject, mastered it. Still, she didn't believe in magic. Not until the day that Edward King approached her and told her about the Circle of the Square. The former Chalice had finally passed on, and it was time to pick a successor. Emily was the perfect canidate. And so, at the age of 62, Emily Queen became the latest in a long lien of women to carry the Cup of Tears and bear the name Chalice. Powers/Tactics: Chalice is a healer, and one of, if not the, best. There are no ailments she canno cure, whether they be physical or mental. She can even "heal" temporary afflictions, such as Mind Control and Mental Illusions.Campaign Use:
