  1. Re: Fantasy setting book in 6th edition? Kamarathin: Kingdom of Tursh has 6E conversions already complete and is licensed by Hero Games. Here is a review: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php/74458-Kamarathin-The-Kingdom-Of-Tursh-(Setting-book-from-D3-Games)
  2. Re: Wolves Lair Go and watch other teams games to better prepare the team.
  3. Re: Wolves Lair Don'tcha just love maya's happy go lucky attitude? I would love to get the info, maya. I'm not sure how much of it I will use, if any, but I like to err on the side of caution with these things.
  4. Re: Indusharan destinations (Turakian Age) Yeah. This thread makes me want to play in LL's game.
  5. Re: Moon Domain Ability I don't know who came up with the images, only to create light... But, they're a genius!
  6. Re: Wolves Lair Have the changes that maya mentioned been taken care of? I've been thinking about the group and think I have the Simmeret, the Sanguinary, and the Paladin backstory covered. We'll likely start the game in a Gobryn port city with the Paladin's initial arrival to Gobryn Duchy. The sanguinary with Simmeret mercenary await the arrival. As I don't have much information on any other PCs at this point... I'll go into further detail with individuals as the time nears, via either email (most likely) or PMs.
  7. Re: Wolves Lair I messed up. I would prefer January 8th. I have family obligations on the 1st. Sorry about any problems or confusion this creates.
  8. Re: Wolves Lair Oh, and I'm still getting emails from dinofreak. He was at our original meeting on maptools. So, I believe he is interested in playing in the game.
  9. Re: Wolves Lair I concur with all of this. I would further request a start date of Jan 1. I should let you know that I was given added duties at my job consisting of revamping the website and an added newsletter. I've been very busy with my regular stuff, but now the basketball season (that I coach) is over that should free up some time. I have quite a few obligations that I've been neglecting and this group is one of them. I appreciate Kam lending a hand with going over chargen. I'm likely not as turgid as he, but that will work fine in the long run. I've been chatting with the co-gm about the character group and we've come up with a few things. I still have to look more closely at the pc's. I'm notoriously cagey at chargen, but I will endeavor to persevere. Further, I think you should all realize something. You've pieced together a group of characters that are mostly outsiders from the region and will likely been seen with witheld hostility by the 'natives'. I think you'll still have your allies (Asunite Church, Eastern Nobility, Sanguinaries), but you'll mostly be on your own. The Church of Asuna is seen by most as an invading religion. The Eastern nobility with hostility since the Plague Wall. Sanguinaries are known as Blood Mages by the common populace and Simeret as cold-blooded mercenary killers. I see the campaign as a fertile ground for moral ambiguities. If you're all fine with that we will continue.
  10. Re: Wolves Lair Yes, I am trying to keep as close to canon as possible. I appreciate Kam's addendums in this thread as I'm not as readily available during the week as he is and we see mostly eye to eye on things. Especially when I'm going for canon.
  11. Re: Wolves Lair Sorry. I don't check this often. I'm glad I got the chance to talk with you guys and will look over the sheets this weekend.
  12. Re: Wolves Lair Have you sent the PCs? I haven't seen them and don't have anything in my email.
  13. Re: Wolves Lair Four players afaik.
  14. Re: 'Peasant Campaign' using Maptools You might want to toss a thread up in the Player Finder section to garner more interest.
  15. Re: Wolves Lair No we are good, Man. Don't worry about that. The game sounds cool to me. I played in something similar with HGF's own Supersquirrel. I would be interested in playing but it depends on scheduling.
  16. Re: Wolves Lair After some discussion with Panpiper, I've realized irreconcilable play styles. The game that I would like to run encapsulates a different vision than the one he would like to play in. As I said up front, my vision of Kamarathin is a gritty, "realistic", low-fantasy setting. I would rather tell the story of characters 'working through their life to become heroes' as opposed to telling stories of characters that are already some of the best combatants in the Kingdom. That does mean that other NPCs may be more capable combatants. There will also be multitudes that are lessor combatants. I'm probably 60/40 interaction/combat in the games I run. It may be that you have too many beginning points? I don't know. But, I've realized I won't be able to run a game Panpiper plays in. It would be frustrating and painful. If you'd still like me to GM Kam (without PP) or play, I'm up for it. I don't want a me vs. him situation. I'll gladly step down as GM or even the group. It is supposed to be fun and thus far it hasn't been. So, I'd like to get back to the fun part.
  17. Re: Wolves Lair I may ask a buddy of mine (lezentauw here at HGF) to join us as a co-gm if y'all don't mind.
  18. Re: Wolves Lair I will be using the 180 templates written up by mayapuppies. It will be 6E. I would like it to eventually be a sort of playtest and use as much of KoT as written, so canon according to mayapuppies. In 6E, SLong changed the way he talks about points. The 180 pt PC with 60 pts in complications is not equivalent to a 240 pt character. The complications are figured into the total. I would also like to stay at least close to builds and packages as written in KoT. The reasons are self-evident IMO. How would someone other than a Lordling or Secular Knight get the 'Writ of Carriage'? If you can satisfactorily convince me of something I will allow some wiggle room. Did anyone specify if they'd like to try Dark Waters first, or would you want to wade right into Gobryn Duchy?
  19. I ran the first session of a new campaign in my Adventure in Aerth setting. This was a ftf game and was a ton of fun. I wasn't sure how many players would show, but I was sure it would be either two or three so I made four characters. The premise of the campaign currently is following the adventures of a Pirate/Privateer Captain Jeralld Risky. The four possible player characters are lessor members of the crew, able seamen if you will: Graff - Half Utan/half Wudatan. A gentle giant and borne to the Cutpurse. Lacking the heart for axework, much to the ire of Captain Risky, Graff has no interest in fighting nor axework. His natural inclination seems closer to linguist and assisting Dame Lyssa Olsen in the chirgeoning aboard ship. Zahm the Glib - A relatively new member of the crew, Zahm is a swashbuckler. He left his last position with Captain Durham as he and his men proved too bloodthirsty and Zahm would prefer talking wives from their husbands as opposed to murder and rape. Druballah - A Maruudian Hunter pressed into the Crew while landbound in Westlake. For the past few years, his position on the Cutpurse very well may have been against his will. But, a recent sea battle and a loss of half the crew required his freedom and assistance. Rahb Gunner - A relatively famous gunsmith from Ossenhaven. Captain Risky pressed him into work also. Forcing the artisan to work off his debt from being 'rescued' from a raid on a Southlake vessel. The two players chose Zahm and Druballah and saw the Cutpurse limping into Ravensdurn Bay for repairs. Captain Risky and the majority of the crew went landside for supplies after darkness ended the repairs. Zahm was given the helm and a special word to keep an eye on the Maruudian. The two and Graff took up a conversation forcastle concerning the strange new 'star' in the night sky and what it might portent. They were interrupted by a night inspection of the cargo by the Harbormaster, but quickly sniffed out a boarding by another Privateer, Mrakus Durham. During the ensuing fight across the deck Zahm was struck down. Assitance from the pilot, Pappy and Rahb Gunner the pirates were killed or run off. This was a 6th Edition game and felt seamless to the players. I built the characters and mechanics haven't changed enough for either of them to notice.
