  1. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Josh is working an overnight tonight. I'm gonna be so lonely. And I'll have that bed all to myself for a whole 6 hours . . . Wait. I'm starting to see some positives, here. So long as I don't scare myself, as I inevitably do when I'm home alone at night.
  2. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Okay, sure, but where did that come from?
  3. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Or he's a happy baby. I'm voting for the latter. ^ v ^ He has his mother's dimples. Awwww.
  4. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I wonder how many people will count all the words in my posts, thanks to my new sig. Rep to the first person that finds me contradicting my sig.
  5. Re: Musings on Random Musings Depends on what you've written. Get your hands on a copy of Writer's Market. It has info about all the publishers in the US, including submission guidelines, an overview of what they're interested in publishing, how many manuscripts they accept . . . Small presses are generally more hopeful than big names, since you're not buried under a pile of slush. But small presses also have tighter competition, since they publish fewer books. And for the love of all that is holy, DO NOT go to PublishAmerica.
  6. Re: Musings on Random Musings According to this article, the annual salary is $27k. Dang. They make $550 per session? You'd think for that, some of 'em could make some effort at it . . . Sorry.
  7. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I keep posting pictures of my cute little nephew over in LRTE. I wonder how many people actually see said pics.
  8. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Another picture of the nephew! I seem to be getting weekly updates, lately. No complaints if the trend continues.
  9. Re: Good News & Bad News My brain insisted on reading that as 'boinking.' Even though I KNOW you won't have time or energy to do that until well after the move. At least, I know I hadn't the time or energy to do it the last 3 times I moved.
  10. Re: A Thread for Random Musings It's raining. This morning it was clear and warm, and now it's raining. Has been for a few hours, actually. Pounding rain (I can hear it on the roof), thunder that shakes the walls . . . And I left 2 of my car windows cracked.
  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings Vaseline? You got vaseline? Lucky.
  12. Re: Good News & Bad News I'm not sure I'd call Kat a 'southern belle' (to her face, anyway), but it was surprising to hear that come out of her mouth. And the silence that descended on the morning meeting when she said it was just priceless.
  13. Re: Good News & Bad News A quick story from work: Today at the morning meeting, someone mentioned that a sex offender who made the front page of the paper this morning lives right next to him. I guess he was accused of being inappropriate with a child. To this, one of the young ladies who works in the clothing department nonchalantly said, "Castrate him," and took another bite of her banana. The moral of this story is: don't underestimate southern ladies. o v O
  14. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Egyptoid's. I deciphered yours about 2 hours ago. Just didn't have a comment about it. Those of us posting at work are supposed to be awake already.
  15. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I'm awake now, but I DEFINITELY don't understand that post.
  16. Re: Good News & Bad News Oh. Yeah. I do that all the time. Change the subject when I have nothing to add, I mean. I'm still trying to decipher the rest of the post. (Give me a half an hour or so. I'll be awake by then. I hope.)
  17. Re: Good News & Bad News Ano . . . Who are you talking to?
  18. Re: So why do you play Hero? I got into it, at first, because it's what my friends were playing, and if I wanted to roleplay, I had to. I stuck around because I found that, no matter the character concept, I could build it, the only restrictions being those I placed, myself. I love that I can think of a concept first, then start building and writing, and the number crunching comes last. And as that concept gets more fleshed out, I can continue to add to that character and increase her power gradually. So in a nutshell, it's the freedom.
  19. Re: A Thread for Random Musings The hole in my chin has gotten worse today. Thank goodness all I'm drinking is water, and I'm wearing black.
  20. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat The big Double D!
  21. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat The squirrels sitting outside my window, laughing their fluffy little tails off at me.
  22. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Every time I click the icon for internet explorer, instead it brings up the worst thing I've ever written in read-only format, and freezes every time I try to close or minimize it.
