  1. Re: DC Heroes to Champions Yes. I believe the conversion pdf is from an article he did for Haymaker but those APAs are on a different disk and I can't check them to be certain of the issue number.
  2. Re: DC Heroes to Champions You should PM Derek and ask him to send you a copy of his pdf. He did a very nice breakdown of skills between the two systems in it. If he doesn't want to send it to you PM me and I will send you my copy.
  3. Re: DC Heroes to Champions Here's Aaron Sullivan's. I'm sure Lord Liaden will be by with more. I believe someone posted the original coversion system from the old Adventurer's Club that George McDonald did as well. You can probably find it with a search.
  4. Re: PCs are not the most important in the world Make your gaming world like a comic book world and don't worry about it. Marvel's New York has had the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Defenders, New Warriors, Power Pack, X-Men, New Mutants, and more indy heroes then you can poke a stick at all in the City at the same time. When you were reading the Avengers did you ever care what the FF or Defenders were doing? Nope, me either. Each group has their own adventures to deal with. Unless those adventures intersect with the PC's just tell your players the "Super-duper Squad" has their hands full with the "Legion of Doombots" across town and leave it at that.

  6. Re: CHAMPIONS OF THE NORTH -- What Would You Like To See? There are several different aboriginal groups in Canada. The most prominent of the nearly 1 million include North American Indians [62%, often referred to as First Nation], Metis [30%], and Inuit [8%].

  9. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? Genocide still exists. It is part of the IHA now. Genocide became the secret aspect of a very public organization. Genocide is more like Project: Wideawake now. You're making a mistake in a couple of areas here. First, the new CU is not a continuation of the old CU. It's more like a parallel universe which shares some of the same traits as the old CU. So there never was a Lord Thorne in the new CU to have such a battle with Dr. Destroyer. Second, many characters were not included for legal reasons rather than not suiting the production team. It would cost a lot of money and require a lot of time to relicense certain fan-favorites. On top of that 90% of 5E system is the same as 4E. Almost any character you might want to use from 4E could be used in 5E with minimal changes. If you like someone use them. The world won't come to an end because you make a change. The 5E CU reflects the universe DOJ wants to represent. I personally wish DOJ had used less older villains and given us more new ones. As I said above, I can always convert the old ones I want in the game. I don't need to pay Steve or Darren to do that.
  10. Re: Sentinels Looking forward to it.
  11. Re: World at War!: Hitler's minions Consider these two stolen for my M&M game. I especially like Kenaz as that is such a simple, yet effective, concept.
  12. Re: Sentinels The thread's 3 years old. I just posted it for the info on the characters. I should have bolded the parts I was referring to.
  13. Re: Sentinels Click on the expansion next to Darren's name to see the whole thread.

  15. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? Of course the issue becomes whom do they own the rights to? Icicle stretches back all the way to the beginning yet needed to be removed from the Champions genre book due to ownership issues. A case can probably be made for most of the characters in Enemies 1 & 2 [and most of them are in 5E] but by the time you're getting to Enemies 3 you're seeing all those little Copyright notices in the front of the book. It's clear that Dennis M. and Aaron A. still hold the rights to all their characters as well. I'm sure others like Andrew R. do was well. Overall I'd rather have seen DOJ go in a new direction with entirely new characters [new as in "not copies of 4E characters with new names"] in a new universe and then later published a giant, 300 page, nostaligia Enemies book full of write ups for 4E characters they did own. To my mind some of the biggest confusion to returning players is why everything seems the same, but different.
  16. Re: Old School It's a little sad to think that the founders aren't involved with the game or community in any way. I often wonder if George, Steve, Ray, Bruce, and even Aaron, play the game any longer or if their lives have just moved past it. I wonder what they'd have to say about what Hero has become.
  17. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? I agree here. The idea that teams must remain static to not interrupt the status quo of the CU is not part of the superhero genre. I'd also like to see them go through some changes. Defender and Witchcraft have a future history so they can't change too much but that doesn't mean the rest of the characters can't go through a "radiation accident" or have something else unforeseen happen to them.

  20. Re: A Thought Experiment: The Buffest Heroes vs Dr Destroyer I agree with Jeff T. Against a 350-450 point team Dr. D is a cosmic god. Against a 700-1,100 point team Dr. D is just another common badguy [but a team that powerful is Superman, Green Lantern, JLA range and they'd not run in fear from Darkseid either].
