Somehow, I never thought of cricket as being this exciting. . .
  2. Today is National Superman Day--mainly because DC said so. Nevertheless, if any fictional character deserves a day, it's Superman--without whom we would all be pretending to skulk around in dank dungeons, killing them all and taking their stuff* Instead, we pretend to wear really great costumes and fight the forces of evil. *Well, some of us do that anyway, but still. . .
  3. I think I'd rather have Matt Smith as The Joker, myself.
  4. Not For Sale? Not. For Sale. Needless to say--I'm disappointed.
  5. As with Rush Limbaugh, I will not celebrate--but neither will I mourn.
  6. When a Vespa and a Segway love each other very, very much. . .
  7. Cornel West To Run For President As Third Party Candidate “I have decided to run for truth and justice, which takes the form of running for President of the United States as a candidate for the People’s Party. . .I enter in the quest for truth, I enter in the quest for justice, and the presidency is just one vehicle to pursue that truth and justice — what I’ve been trying to do all of my life.” And now I wonder if he's a Superman fan.
  8. RIP Harry Bentley Hot Wheels Designer
  9. According to this article, there are four different types of American pizza--New York, Chicago, St. Louis, and California. I guess now there's a fifth. Does look really good, though.
  10. “Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue, if you can pacify, and don’t raise a hand at all, until you’ve extended it.”--Wonder Woman

Honestly, I'm not sure how this is gonna go. . .
  12. “Death is welcome when it comes; but to yield- never!”--King Arthur
  13. Second Chance TV Series "It follows the life of Jimmy Pritchard, a 75-year-old former King County, Washington sheriff who was morally corrupt and later disgraced and forced to retire. After he is killed in a robbery at his son's home, Pritchard is brought back to life in the improved body of a younger man by billionaire tech-genius twins Mary and Otto Goodwin. However, despite having a new life and a chance to relive his life and find a new purpose, the temptations that led to his career being tarnished continue to haunt him." This could be a character in Champions or Dark Champions. He even had his own "Batmobile"--a 1971 Buick Riviera "Boattail." An excellent machine for any Seventies-era PI or rogue cop.
  14. Update With Artwork Looks really great, but the list of characters and monsters does not include The Jabberwock. I find that--disappointing.
  15. I don't know why no one thought of this sooner. . .
  16. He's been stealing pennies from every bank and retailer in Millenium City and its surroundings for quite some time. No one wants them, so he takes them, and now he has enough to convert into millions. Now the Master Plan can begin its most magnificent phase of implementation! BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!
  17. I remember from many years ago a segment on the nightly news about growing concern about the sugar content of breakfast cereals. There was a nutrition advocate reciting the level of sugar content in a number of cereals--this was decades before the Nutrition Facts label on every prepackaged food--and he concluded with this statement which has always stuck with me-- "Our children are eating candy for breakfast." That was then. This is now.
  18. Or like Lig Lury, he's just popped out for a sandwich and will yet return to put in a solid afternoon's work.
  19. Wasn't that the premise of Stephen King's The Stand?
