  1. "Old Man" that isn't a super power, more like a disadvantage.
  2. Under employed robots ! It is time to implement an "adopt a Dalek" ptogramme !
  3. And I bet that "Runaways" only screens on ****** "Netflix" or some other streaming service !
  4. Well I don't know about any "formula", but , according to figures on :Box Office Mojo" "Justice League " has already made back its production costs. Advertising costs, I don't know about.
  5. Yes , but that was because she gave old Apollo the bums rush when he tried to put the hard word on her and, being a vindictive so and so (like most of the Greek gods) he cursed her so that she wouldn't be believed.
  6. "Box Office Mojo" gives "Justice League" $572 million dollars taken in about a month of release. Not as good as Warners may have expected, but not bad..
  7. And Ollie North is involved ? I think that we have been transported to Earth X (or maybe Earth 3 or earth T). The idiots really have taken over the asylum if this happens !
  8. Nevins says in his introduction "Fantastic Pulp Heroes" is intended to cover all the heroes who appeared in science fiction, fantasy and horror stories. "Pulp Adventurers" is intended to cover all the heroes who aren't the protagonists of science fiction, fantasy and horror stories ". I haven't yet found any repeat entries. Another volume (which I don't have) covers pulp cowboys and there may be others planned.
  9. "toddbanister" Try looking on the net for "Nostalgia Ventures Inc" or "Sanctum Productions". They have reprinted a number of the "Doc Savage" stories in a large size magazine format complete with illustrations and essays by people such as Will Murray (One of the authors of the post 1975 stories mentioned by "Spence").
  10. So Australia only has to beat France, Denmark and Peru. So nice of them to give us an easy group.
  11. Well that would at least get him off twitter permanently !
  12. Does anyone remember an old cartoon from Warner Brothers from the war years called "Gremlins From The Kremlin" ? It was kept off screens for years during the post war period , possibly because it glorified the Soviet Union and Joseph Stalin in particular.
  13. I felt much the same way about Ebert. He always seemed to explain WHY he reacted to any given movie the way he did..
  14. Well I enjoyed it. Loved the portrayal of Aquaman. It hasn't done as well as many people hoped at the box office (so far). Perhaps they should ditch Snyder and let Weedon have control of the next film from the start.
  15. I saw the movie last night and generally enjoyed it.Yes Wonder Woman was moping a bit, but she was also the fierce warrior princess at times too. I especially liked the new, kick ass Aquaman and the young naive Flash (although I agree he might not be to everyone's taste). After the very serious tone of "Batman vs Superman" it was good to see a bit of humour in a D C movie. I don't give a damn what "Rotten Tomatoes" or anyone else says, I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the sequel that is hinted at in the post credit sequence. I hope it does well at the box office.
  16. But that is only his tweets. Surely if you include all the untrue things that he says in his statements the figure is higher !
  17. Well heck, as an old JLA nerd, i'm going to see it this afternoon !
  18. Well if someone else is going to be running Zimbabwe I hope that they can do a better job that Mugabe. While cronyism, graft and corruption are rife in Africa old Robbie took it to a new level, and ruined his nation in the process. I don't envy the new government if they are actually trying to improve life for the average citizen. They will be starting from a long way back !
  19. Just got my copies of Jess Nevins' "The Encyclopedia Of Fantastic Pulp Heroes" and "The Encyclopedia Of Pulp Adventurers". Lots of characters that I don't know (of course) and at least ONE surprise omission, Eric John Stark, unless I missed him, but otherwise it looks like good fun and very worthwhile, as can be expected of Nevins. I haven't read right through them yet, but they will definately fill a gap in my reference library.
  20. Duh ! Rereading "Kharis 2000";s post I find myself face palming. You HAVE seen the t v series ! Still, a good recommendation for anyone who HASN'T seen them.
  21. Up until their surprise win last game I would have said that that was something well within the capabilities of the 49ers as well !
  22. If they want to reinstate the "Assault weapons" ban I think that they need to be more specific in their definition of an "assault weapon". I don't know what that definition should look like but something like "any semi automatic shoulder arm with a detatchable magazine" would seem to be a starting point for such a definition.
  23. "Kharis 2000" You might see if you can find the DVDs of "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries":, an Australian T V series based (originally) on the Kerry Greenwood novels.
