1. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Nope. I tried numerous times and all it does is send me back to the blog page. Guess it does'nt like me.
2. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Legatus I can't find the start to the 3.0 Heromachine, all I get is the blog. Is there a link to the working version cause I want to get my Mecha on.
3. Re: Melting Ice Caps Expose Hundreds Of Secret Arctic Lairs And yet they still haven't found Santa's workshop!
4. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine "Schnitter is German for reaper." ....Well, OK then. This case of WORD SCARE is over.
5. The 7 most barren/abandoned places in the world (according to this website). Fun to use as a battleground for different genres of RPG http://weburbanist.com/2009/09/01/7-remotest-abandoned-wonders/
6. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine the flea
7. Re: Hudson City in real life? A few pics of cargo ports and waterfronts. Hard to find any good photos, probably better to Googlemap NYC port and zoom in.
8. Re: Hudson City in real life? Thanks to Maniac Typist I have a better search location for Irishtown. These 5 pics are of the Hamptons. Any water scenes could be a man made lake in the area of the homes shared by all whose property touch on it.
9. Re: Hudson City in real life? The way you wish to visualize it is up to you. This thread has opened my eyes to the variety of media to present to my players on the location they are in and I am having fun finding new places to WOW them. I think more along the lines for Irishtown might be the Hamptons, or parts of the Back Bay in Boston. Anyone who has an idea of a location please sing out. Found this forum about cities with a worst slum thread. Lots of pictures and I'm loading the first page of the Bronx form username SuperMario. Lots of good images for Dark Champions. Heres the link http://www.city-data.com/forum/city-vs-city/107733-cities-worst-slums-26.html Glad you like Bing. Lot of fun for a search engine, more visual to me than Google.
10. Re: Hudson City in real life? The Projects-Chicago Cabrini Green. Alot of the buildings have been demolished, at least the high rises. The lower buildings are still being habitated. These pictures are just a drop of what I found under the heading "Cabrini Green Chicago buildings". Thats all for tonight, maybe more tomorrow.
11. Re: Hudson City in real life? Next Little Italy in New York.
12. Re: Hudson City in real life? Couple more for Chinatown
13. Re: Hudson City in real life? OK DarkHerophiles. Bing Images is your friend. I love the whole video and image tabs on Bing for ease of use. That said, I searched Chinatown in Images and got these photos. I took a walking tour with my wife in San Francisco's Chinatown during the day and wished we had more time to go back at night. I'm going to search some other tags for pics and post later.
14. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Couldn't resist two more since my Enemies: The International File was out. Here is Fosfiend and Lava. I do like the power effects of fire and aura glow.
15. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I was answering a query on another thread using my Enemies: The International File and came across Bwana. Kraven the Hunter merged with the Punisher. I did two pics because neither Fabrica nor Hero Machine has what it takes IMO.
16. Re: Destroyers Rewrite?? From FireTiger -"Sniper (Does anyone know if this is an update of Marksman?)" Looking at my copy, he is not a rewrite of the original Marksman. The Ruler of Crime was introduced in Enemies: The International File and Sniper was part of his background. Crusader (pre retcon to Dark Champions) was a tough Batman type of vigilante, and according to Champions Universe Sniper was to violent for him and stopped working with him.
17. Re: Deathstroke module from 1983 I used it when it came out as the Destroyers picking up right after the Island of Dr. Destroyer. The villians were routed very easily, but Dr. Draconis became a semi fixture. I had him trying to clone a dragon and to do so he had to travel the world looking for DNA. Grenadier had a blister pack of Draconian figures (dragon men) that I modified to carry guns and suddenly Dr. Draconis had an army of semi intelligent zealots to protect him. The Destroyers had changed their name and added Scatterbrain by this time, and decided to look the good Doctor up. After his minions chased them from his South Pacific base, they reported him to UNTIL. The hero group decided to pay a visit and ended up not only fighting the dragonmen army, but also a cloned dragon that ended flying off with Dr. Draconis on board.
18. Re: Mercenary Supervillains Plus some people would rather follow than be proactive, IE Deadshot from DC. He almost never leads or takes inititive, but follows the orders he wants from whatever leader he is serving right now (Rick Flag, Catman). He doesn't sweat the planning and only cares about the doing at the moment.
19. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I got it
20. Re: Genre Conventions & Values My takes on this thread. Champions would be the four color adventures of superheroes. Could be big company or independent company feel (Marvel/DC where mostly everybody lives and if they die there is a chance to bring them back, Image/Top Cow Etc. where bad things could happen to a hero or his NPCs and it will affect them long after the incident) Dark Champions should be just what it sounds like, Heroes (vigilantes) who try to stop crime in a realistic way (Punisher, Batman, Daredevil, Moon Knight). I would include Gritty Realistic and Animated Series in this header. The above mentioned Action Hero would be normal VS. normal IE cops, mercenaries, military, spies, martial arts. Everything third edition Danger International had. Urban Fantasy would be Fantasy Now. Could be a mix of magic, creatures and psionics along with modern weapons and vehicles. Fantasy - anything without technology but not just magic. Could be a knights VS. knights, Egyption pharaohs or monks solving crimes. Near Future would be Cyberhero. Could be combined with Urban Fantasy. Future Space would be Star Hero. And no matter the name, what ever works for you and your group is the best label.
21. Re: Hawaii Hero kahuna is priest in Hawaiian
22. Re: Top 5 Champs books of all time As a Dark Champions lover, Underworld Enemies, Justice, Not Law, and Hudson City Blues are the most kick@$$. J,NL had a city for Gygax's Sake! And HCB helped a newbie GM plot out a ginormous multilevel game with hints, handouts and tie-ins to almost every Hero Product you could use for Dark Champs.
23. Re: Hawaii Hero I was working on a "Hawaiian Heroes" for Digital Hero until it closed. I had a bunch of characters worked out with names in Hawaiian and everything. The only one I posted was for the Dark Champions in every state on the other group. The picture was Heromachine + photoshop head. This is Tiki. When Pele awoke and cast part of her godhood out to create protectors for the islands, a mute teen was imbued with strength, invulnerablity, and his head was encased in a wooden tiki mask/helmut that does not come off until he wills it away. He was used to guard the streets and areas where crime threatened the normal people, but would help on the four color capers if needed. The only way he could communicate was through the art of hula.
24. Re: Widows & Orphans (PDF Download) Dang! With a teaser like that I'll have to go and buy it... oh wait I already own it. I'm gonna have to go and reread it.
25. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Still bupcus. Signed in with my gmail password and waited 2 minutes. It reloaded but only showed a button to your photos, no Stornart. Thanks for trying. Here is the stinger tongue guy
