  1. I was actually impressed to learn who the Cylon infiltator was. Some of my friends who are much bigger fans of the original series than I am thought it was an interesting touch. One guy has taped the mini-series and watched it about a dozen times. He says he likes it better now than the first time. I really don't think they could have done a Starbuck that compared to the original so it was probably necessary to make a major change in the character. Same thing for many of the others.
  2. My favorite was the raid on the meth lab by the team. One player is screaming, "What's in the barrels, DON'T BLAST HIM..." BOOM! Everyone at the table could see it coming and did everything short of sedating the guys character to keep him away.
  3. I can give a big thumbs up for Kazei-5. It's a great book.
  4. Hmm, that last was pretty good but not quite spot on. I'm going to try a variation ot the cyberspace rules in Kazei-5 next. Mentalist Cyberspace with Largo taking a Psyche Lim for being unable to distinguish physical reality from cyberspace.
  5. There's something about the game setting that's being described that disturbs me on some level. The only supers are the players and for some reason the rest of the human race cannot access any prior technology. If that's case then even such mundane weaponry as molotov cocktails might not be available. Also, what is the point for humans to fight the supers anyway? If things are that bad that just scraping up enough food to eat will be a greater concern. Again, stuff like this is why I avoid post-apocolyptic worlds like the plague.
  6. Actually I don't know if 70% of the human race disappearing would really lead to a collapse. Think about it;)
  7. You've run squarely into the reason that I don't play or run post-anything worlds.
  8. Wasn't the TV series "Mantis"? Some sort of high-tech internal combustion engine powering air muscles might be a neat idea.
  9. Thanks, I believe that will work. That would even handle the time Largo was hit by the bus and only got a broken arm.
  10. Intelligent armor with its own secret agenda is always fun:D
  11. The problem is that the characters are otherwise entirely too low powered. I started drawing the parallel to Calvin a while back. I can't find any evidence that Largo does anything other than create a nuisance to others. Like the ph34rbots. Everyone else sees a pile of junk on manhole covers. Further evidence is that Ed and Dom are completely unprepared for Ping. Ping is the real deal, a gynoid capable of tossing busses and ripping up lightpoles.
  12. The character Largo sees everything as part of a first person shooter video game with zombies. He goes into a techno-dance club and sees all the people there as zombies so he attacks them. He gets thrown in jail and when his lawyer, whom he sees as a ninja shows up he believes that a rent-a-zilla sprung him from jail. Largo gets a job teaching English at a high school, at one point he sees the bored students as zombies so he jumps out the window. The thing is that his point of view actually works for him after a fashion.
  13. A while back I considered starting a game set in the Megatokyo webcomic universe. After re-reading the comics several time I concluded that some of the action is seen through a Calvin and Hobbes type of "reality filter" How would you handle this? A Psych Lim perhaps?
  14. On a grimmer note, could supers be recruited for 'study'? They would probably form a loose association and possibly have their own dorms.
  15. It's been a while since I've been in a fantasy game but isn't lumping Orcs and Goblins together a bit much? Also, shouldn't the hunted be a bit more specific? Perhaps hatred of orcs, enraged when facing goblins in combat and hunted by a particular tribe of orcs or goblins.
  16. A few years ago there were some 'pirates' that cleaned out several drug dealers. They had some inside knowledge of when the dealers would have a large amount of cash on hand and hit them then. If you had a team of super villians that sort of thing would be right up their alley.
  17. Charities, complete with telemarketers and telethons. They should actually run some orphanages and schools as well. Great places to indoctrinate and recruit followers.
  18. How might a Brick discover his powers? It's not necessarily obvious. I'm thinking here of David Dunn in Unbreakable . There may be some event that points out his capabilities, that would be the defineing moment of his life.
  19. Let me go over the list of things I remember about Drakon They're physically tough, fast, quick and strong. They also have pheromones that allow them to dominate and control normal humans. They learn extremely quickly but they're not creative. They're arrogant and apparently without any moral code. Humans that had their mindset simply couldn't have a functional society but they're not human so they do. Think that about covers it?
  20. I just went diving into my stack of old books and The Stone Dogs is the only Draka novel I can find:( I'm wondering if we're the only two Hero gamers on this board to read that series.
  21. I really need to read the novels again. You're absolutely right about the Drakon though. I think their lack of creativity would be their most serious weakness.
  22. On the Pulp Hero idea. Nazi's might imagine themselves as a master race, do you suppose they would take kindly to a Drakon ? Suppose the Nazi wished to capture Gwen and milk her for genetics knowledge and perform a few experiments on her. A hero team that didn't know her true nature might attempt to protect her or even rescue her. That could lead to some nasty plot twist. A four color game would be great fun, four color heros would be appalled at the Drakon , some might even reconsider their CvK. I'd need to reread the books to put together a Drakon NPC.
  23. A Drakon invasion of a dimension of four-color hero's...hmm:cool:
  24. I do and I find the concept to be disturbing:eek:
  25. Okay, here's the plan. Infiltrate their bases after closing then change the locks....
