  1. It's a headcount thing. You can use the person handing out orders in-store to fill the drinks, and you don't need to schedule someone for regular cleaning/restocking of the customer-accessible fountain drink area.
  2. Just cut out unnecessary programs, like science, foreign languages, or fine arts.
  3. That's probably going to be my lunch tomorrow, a Double-Double, fries, and a diet Coke.
  4. I've been playing Bethesda's new game, Starfield, as part of the Early Access program (It officially launches on September 6). I'm about 7 hours in and I'm having a really good time. One review I saw said that it was "Skyrim in space", and that's mostly correct. I bought my copy, but Game Pass subscribers will be able to play for free on September 6. Most of my time has been spent playing it on my gaming PC, but I did switch over to the Xbox Series X for about an hour (buy once, play on either). Game saves are cloud-based, so it was the same character on both. Space combat is a lot of fun, but there's a bit of a learning curve. Because I'm susceptible to motion sickness, I usually play Skyrim in third-person. I've been playing Starfield in first-person, however, as the video's much smoother and it doesn't seem to trigger my motion sickness. Third-person does trigger my motion sickness, and I think that it's because the character wobbles a bit while you are walking.
  5. My condolences for your family's loss. May you feel better soon.
  6. What about if I'm singing, "I'll Make a Man Out of You" at the same time?
  7. Rain pouring off of my roof, with occasional peals of thunder.
  8. What's the point of preloading 140GB if the day one patch is 117GB?
  9. I usually buy Hot Wheels cars to give out to trick-or-treaters, and several folks at my local Smith's Supermarket (Kroger) have heard me suggest it over the years. So, this year they have their Halloween candy set up, with a small display of Hot Wheels cars in the middle of it.
  10. Oh, boy! That means the Easter candy should be out in stores soon!
  11. The Flash: It probably says everything that you need to know about the good parts of this that I'm still humming Danny Elfman's 1989 "Batman Theme". (Max)
  12. Babylon 5: The Road Home: This new animated feature finds President John Sheridan untethered in Time and S("We can't say that because of copyright"-Zathras). There's a bit of a "clip show" feel to it, but I did enjoy it. (UHD Blu-ray) Two episodes of Ahsoka have dropped on Disney+, and they basically cover a bunch of ground from the end of Star Wars: Rebels for those of us who didn't watch that all the way through. I like it so far.
  13. For activating the glow in the dark material in some dice: Unsurprisingly, it works best with Q Workshop dice, but the Chessex Luminary dice also work particularly well with a few extra shakes. It does not work well with cheaper glow in the dark dice, as I don't think that the light stays on long enough to penetrate the die material. The light unit is an insert that fits into the cap, and it requires 3 AAA batteries (I'm using Amazon rechargeable batteries in mine, and it seems to work fine). A little screwdriver comes with it to remove the two very small screws that hold the battery cover on. The cup is significantly larger (and heavier) than the regular leather Q Workshop cups, and it's priced about $30-35 higher than those (list price is $65 on Amazon and Q Workshop).
  14. 'This buys a year': Hurricane Hilary edges up Lake Mead water level
  15. It's often hard to value time spent together until that's not an option anymore. I'm almost at the 14-year mark since my wife passed away, and it's those moments that we spent together that I cherish most.
