Re: Musings on Random Musings
Sourdough or yeast? The sourdough is traditional (from what I recall) but can be a pain to make. And yeast based ones taste good too. It has been a while since I made any frenchbread...mmmm...And I'll admit that my carnivore mind's first thought upon reading the post was "But what was the main course?"
Yeast. Since I was just doing it with stuff on hand. Took maybe 20 minutes of actual work if that.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
That's about how similar things can sometimes go with my wife.Of course when she signs onto the boards as she says she will I'll deny I posted this...hey, who is it controlling my hands......
Marconi seems the type to say that.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
I've always found it so. I just don't do it much because my brother likes the dill-rye bread he buys' date=' and I just can't eat it fast enough.[/quote']I made a french bread. Turned out pretty well and went very well with the dinner. (Pasta with a cheese sauce & asparagus. Looks like soup's for tomorrow.)

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
While I can't say that everything or even a majority of things are going my way right now, I'm getting a lot of reminders that I know some really nice cool generous people.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
I think making some bread would help right now.Very therapeutic so far.
Other things to do that may not be done today, but possibly this week.
- Organize my bookmark files. Three different computers have lost sync and I need to cull some as well.
- Go thru a lot of image files on my computer
Various supers, Cheesecake, City of Heroes snapshots, Shelter Kitties, other downloads, my own stuff, and Friend's pictures - Taxes!
- Reinstall Windows. wiping it always makes me feel better
- Cabling the living room for computer & TV
- Need to try again on selling the pool table and a few other things
- I'm sure there's more

Educated guess: because they ramp up your immune system' date=' and when they are finally purged from your body, your system is exhausted from being over-worked.[/quote']I think the other thing most antibiotics aren't all that friendly to your own system and you need to recover from that as well.

Re: Hero System women are all insanely attractive
You are, however, the High Priestess of the Hero System online, so your opinion will carry some weight. Back in the day, 1996, there I was with my old Power Mac and Theala's was the site for Hero Mac geeks.*flashback sequence ensues*Huh. (shakes self awake) Sorry. Anyway, its fantasy so why wouldn't players want a world where not only were they better than RL but better looking and have better looking people around them?

Re: (newbie) The Downside of Density Increase
I suppose they could all have 1" Flight' date=' 0 END, Persistent, Linked to DI, only to prevent crushing objects beneath them, but it hardly seems likely.[/quote']There are several cases of the Vision increasing density and having an effect on the enviroment.
Right as the Korvac saga was beginning, he's fighting Attuma on a coast guard ship that visibly buckles under the weight.

Same inertia' date=' but no surface friction, so you lose, in effect 1d6 KBR if you are flying.[/quote']I'll go along with what you and badger3k are saying.

Re: (newbie) The Downside of Density Increase
I had a character like this' date=' and the team gadgeteer built a sort of anti-gravity belt that counteracted the immense weight (and cancelled any KB resistance...).[/quote']Just as a note: I wouldn't see it lowering the KB resistance. You'd still have the same inertia, yes?

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
On another board, I had to weigh in on the email vs. e-mail spelling. I actually couldn't tell you when I switched it in spelling, but I was probably dropping the hyphen long ago. And then I read something by Donald Knuth
A note on email versus e-mailNewly coined nonce words of English are often spelled with a hyphen, but the hyphen disappears when the words become widely used. For example, people used to write ``non-zero'' and ``soft-ware'' instead of ``nonzero'' and ``software''; the same trend has occurred for hundreds of other words. Thus it's high time for everybody to stop using the archaic spelling ``e-mail''. Think of how many keystrokes you will save in your lifetime if you stop now! The form ``email'' has been well established in England for several years, so I am amazed to see Americans being overly conservative in this regard. (Of course, ``email'' has been a familiar word in France, Germany, and the Netherlands much longer than in England --- but for an entirely different reason.)

Re: Blocking and deflecting
I agree with how you handled it from the first post. And thinking things thru, I'd probably do the same. It's actually quite rare for me to see Missile Deflection, but that's just in the games I've been in.
I would probably just roll Deflection and Blocking into the same manuever class. Meaning if someone shot at Target, he missile deflects. Someone throws a punch, he blocks at -2. Another shot comes in, deflect at -4.
So no additional adder needed for HtH. Though that does ignore the possibility of the levels from Missile Deflection. I'd make them buy 3 points that could be used for both.

Re: (newbie) The Downside of Density Increase
I've got one villian with Density Increase to a high enough level to be a problem, but with her I built it pretty much as MitchellS suggests.
Bought all the benefits with out actually buying the power Density Increase. She's always 64 tons and has a physical limitation. However, it's only five points because she has a power to offset that. Pretty much kind of like force field snow shoes. Doesn't quite pass the real world test.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
Did you see my question about the gaming conventions in the Portland area? I might be able to work a visit out...Totally missed it. I have no idea what my plans for the weekend of gamestorm (March 25-27) are at this point. There's a lot of uncertain stuff going on. But if you want a couch to sleep on, you'd be welcome to use ours. Assuming the couch is there.
More stuff on Game Storm
I've gone the last three years and run games. Each year, they've had a couple hero games and incredibly little Hero stuff in the dealers room. I think the year they had Steve Long there, all I found was some used stuff.
However, outside of that, it's a fun small con.
However, if you wanted to visit at some other point, maybe we could coordinate a few games between Zornwil & myself. And there are a few other potentials in the area. It's just getting everyones schedules to mesh.

You could always inflict some of Warehouse 23 on them.
And Korvar has some great ideas. I like the worms.
