Re: A Thread for Random Musings
The cats have decided to do steeple chases thru the house. Either that or a reenactment of Death Race 2000.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
I'm really at a loss as to how to contribute to this conversation.Dammit, how am I supposed to help inflate this thread when you're all going on and on about in-jokes?
Here: http://www.omwh.com
SOMEONE he's bound to find that amusing. There have to be some Buffy fans hiding out around here SOMEWHERE.
Hiding? Who's hiding?
Cute link.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
Odd day so far. Get up way to early to drive to shelter. Run out of gas since I must of used up 40 miles worth of gas in just trying to get him to start last week. Walk to first service station, no gas cans. Next one will sell me one, so I buy a mini-one for $3.19. No biggie. Fill up after another nice walk.
Take Ricco to the vet and get his med patch taken off. He did not like the auto trip, but he's fine.
I talk to one of the new volunteers. He finds out I used to go to UCSC and wants to know if I knew someone. I'm thinking "I didn't even say what years I was there and I'm going to know some random guy". He says the last name is Abbot. I then go "Jason?". Yes. Used to play Hero with him all the time. Haven't heard from him in a few though. Small World.

Re: The cranky thread
Does anybody out there know exactly what happens to a company when a former employee files for unemployment? This is the second time I've had a prior employer be utter bastards about my getting benefits' date=' and I am left wondering "[b']Why?[/b]"I'm curious as well since I was pretty sure unemployement was part of what was being taken out of my check.
My last contracting firm has been good in getting things filed.

Re: Julie?
Erm, don't think so, there was some chat in a thread weeks ago about giving a name to 5ER as eth ed had FRED it seemed a female name was appropriate and it just...developed...Check out paigeoliver's sig...
paigeoliver was the one who came up with Julie and seems to really want everyone to call it Julie. I'm sticking with 5ER myself.
Just ignore his sig, he does not speak "officially" for Hero. For that matter, neither do I.

Re: Effective Concepts Your GM WON'T Allow.
Side track(Forgive)
Exactly where do you guys cap PRE in your campaigns?
We capped at 40 in a past campaign to avoid some sillyness of having a hero just go BOO!. Made people actually think thru their PRE attacks to get some modifiers.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
Driving in LA is binary. There are two options' date=' gas pedal down, or break pedal down. Seriously, if the road is open people drive very fast, during rush hour, everything comes to a stop. When I travel to LA I usually arrive late and the roads are fairly open, driving at 70, people blow past me cursing me for driving like a granny. Then when I go back to the airport during the day its stop and go.[/quote']A good description.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
The pain one experiences when one gets capsecium oil on one's upper lip is comparable to the pain experienced during an amputation.Well, I'm glad it never happened to me, but a couple friends did some jalapeno prep in the kitchen before getting frisky in the bedroom. Good way to learn to wear gloves.

San Diego I will drive in... L.A.' date=' absolutely not. Hell will not only freeze first, but it will have a hockey rink with stadium seating.[/quote']Bah. LA is easy.

Re: City of Heroes Based Campaign
Yeah. It'll never happen, but if someone were to liscence the HERO System rules and the CoH setting to produce a sourcebook .... well that would be 'teh bomb'.As an aside, supposedly Stateman plays Champions; I heard he ran an adventure at GenCon last year.
I believe that there is a CoH RPG in the works. Our SG gets infrequent visits by the person working on that. And I'm blanking on what other gaming stuff he's done.

Re: Musings on Random Musings
I was wondering who would get the reference. That song was much fodder for many a game. Just the lines referring to "No, it's ok, i'll work it out myself" or "We're afraid you'll hurt somebody. We're afraid you'll hurt yourself".
Hmm, I think my gaming group was a bit odd at times. I forget where this exchange came from:
"EAT SH*T AND DIE!!!"
"Thank you no, I'd rather just have a Pepsi"
And I have no idea what Chad is talking about.

Re: The cranky thread
What does Godiva do to its employees? On a related note' date=' there's a company in Michigan that has a new policy: Employees are not allowed to smoke at all, not even in their homes. It seems the company doesn't want to pay the higher cost of insurance. Three people have been sacked already for refusing to take a test to determine whether they are smokers. I see a lawsuit taking place.[/quote']Insert rant about insurance. That policy sucks.
Next steps: Employees must all fall in the healthy weight catagory. Next, excercise more.

Re: The cranky thread
Ever since a freind of mine told me horror stories of the way Godiva treats their employees (her mother' date=' in specific), I refuse to buy chocolate from them.[/quote']IIRC, they have a high wax content in their chocolate as well.

yech
I don't want to do that today. bleh. Probably more accurate would be, I wish I didn't ever have to do that.

Wouldn't smiting with Snow Weasels not hurt that much? I would imagine on the scale higher than wet noodle and lower than sock full of rice.
