  1. Re: Musings on Random Musings

Well' date=' I can understand the regrets but it is nice to simplify one's life. I need to shed some projects.[/quote']

I've got a back log of projects a mile long. That one just wasn't going to happen anytime soon. I think the various house projects needed to take priority. Now I just need to get a real job so the cash flow problem gets solved. I figure I've got two monthes covered before serious problems start creeping in.

Yuck' date=' but good inventiveness/engineering on your part. I had a break on the side of my glasses a while back and the glasses people actually did a quick graft from another pair just as a quick freebie. Which is good and bad - good obviously in that it's fixed, but bad in that it's fixed well enough I haven't bothered to do anything more about it, so the piece that holds the glasses on one ear is actually different from the rest of the pair. But it doesn't stand out too badly, particularly with my hair being long and over it on that side of my face, the side opposite the part.[/quote']

Thanks. I'm hoping to do a decent enough job so it's not too noticable, but it will be better than the previous pair that my wife had Fed-Ex tape on the side for the better part of a year. :nonp:

    Did some cleaning.

Made sure everything for the VWs was done so they could be taken away.

    Laundry

    Some shopping. New socks! yay!

Put together some more photos for the shelter's angel program. One of the cats we thought would make a good angel got adopted, so we needed to replace her.

Went hot tubbing Saturday with some friends.

Yes... and then we'd have to come up with something else to keep THEM entertained... :straight:

    John T

Our five cats seem to be pretty good at self entertainment. Though three of them like the sitting in front of my wife's monitor as entertainment. Her question to me "Why don't they do it to you?" answer: "I don't let them"

    ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STOP CREATING 6-8 NEW THREADS A DAY ON NEWS STORIES THAT ARE NOT INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    There. Better now.

Different views eh? I like about half of them, though I liked Kirby's idea of one thread a bit better.

My wife's glasses broke in half, right in the middle. She glued them, but it didn't hold more than a couple days. So I brushed off a bit of minature experience. Drilled a small hole in each side and pinned them together. Now I just need to put some filler in and cover it with something that won't irritate my wife's cute nose.

Both Vans are gone! A part of me is sad that I didn't have the cash flow to get that project going. However, I no longer have this task just sitting there, mocking me from the driveway. Plus I now have no excuse to not be able to park the bug in garage. With the bad weather coming in, should make the bug happier.

At least you have an actual tree. When I was young, I was in the tropics, where evergreens don't grow. So we had fake trees. The strangest one we had was a frame of a tree made of rattan. It was practically two-dimensional!

I'm not kidding here. My family really did this one Christmas.

One of my friends got a silver alumimum tree with a lighted color wheel behind it. It's pretty nifty.

    Actual translation is

Before you the counter counting time which remained before official opening project Карнаж. Till this moment you were only assistants in testing game, after - become full inhabitants of this world. During existence of Slaughter very much much has changed, founders of the project tried to go towards to wishes in improvement of game process, and today the result is available - in Карнаж plays a plenty of people, various age and trades. What waits for you after opening? Wait

I think you're ok in terms of malware. I didn't go further since it seemed to want you to register.

If there's going to be an Italian character' date=' I hope he isn't Roman-themed or Mafia-themed. I agree some small degree of stereotyping is fitting for the superheroic genre, but look, I already got two copies of European Enemies... :nonp:[/quote']

How about a cold themed one named "Gelato"? :D

  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings

It might in some ways be better in the long run, as long as people can AFFORD the extra cost of vehicles... I live in a relatively low paid area, the property prices reflect this.

What happens to those of us who drive 20+ year old vehicles?

My brother in law was ranting about how the government standards should make all vehicles hybrid, or mandate 30+mpg, or some such. So far, Ford added iirc $6k to the cost of an Escape on the hybrid model...

The place we are buying is far enough out I am not sure the little honda civic we will drive once we fix the dead cylinder will be able to clear fresh snow. :(

That means back to the pickups, for half the mileage.

To be truthful, I think there should be plenty of incentives for people to go to better cars.

I'd like everyone to drive vehicles that are lower impact on the enviroment. However, I can't see that happenning easily enough. I also think there should be different standards for the need of the person. I see no need for a Hummer (for an extreme example) as a commuter vehicle. However, there are people who are practically forced to drive older cars due to cost. I can't afford the insurance on a new car (much less a new car) so I'm driving something that gets crappy milage.

Since I'm being brain scattered, let's just say I agree with you. Just wish there was a better way.

And, of course, our current GOvernor, who I believe I did vote for, wants to change our emissions standards to the CALIFORNIA standards.

SO, now everyone needs to buy 1000+ dollar 4 stroke outboards for their boats, and all the other fun little things the CA standards have mandated.

Yi. Well as long as they don't bring in the reg fees up to the california model, it's better in the long run.

And truly sorry about the voting fiasco in washington. For the avatar, no votes were recieved from Washington. So no worries there...

  13. Re: Champs Worldwide: Whaddya want?

Hardly superheroic stuff . . . A one point Immunity: Inedible Foodstuffs would take care of the effects of those!

But surströmming - that's Kryptonite, people!

Those are not food stuffs! Well, the rotted herring has got to go as well.

  14. Re: Musings on Random Musings

The Ohio Posters demand a recount!

The Tennesse Posters just don't care ;)

(Truth to tell, I prefer the w/dice too I think)

After the rodent with gun avatar paid for it, we recounted several times. Each time we came up with 100% lemming w/dice. The people have spoken!

We decided that we'd already done everything we could to improve his life. Rather than put him through the discomfort and pain' date=' we let him go. Mage was put to sleep this afternoon.[/quote']

I'm sorry for your loss, but I think you made the right decision. Mage was lucky to have you as guardians.
