  1. Re: The cranky thread

Hmm, actually Hermit got rid of a lot of crankiness just by agreeing to mash some potatos.

Been looking over my finances this week. I'm screwed. Rather than go thru it all, anyone know of a decent financial consultant, good for helping people dig out of some bad decisions and circumstances?

While I certainly didn't do it for the rep, I was a little miffed that I didn't get any for running the Champions modding contest. Miffed might even be too strong, more like cranky.

THIS IS NOT AN ATTEMPT TO SOLICIT REP, SO DO NOT GIVE ME ANY FOR THE MODDING THREAD!!

A lot of you have been VERY kind the last few days rep-wise, but I was a little irked a few weeks ago that posting silly stuff was netting me better results than actually doing something that I thought of as constructive.

Just to let you (and by extension everyone else) know that my scheme on rep is that usually someone will make some noteworthy post either for good or bad. If it's for good and I can Rep you then, there you go. If not, there might be some other post somewhere down the line that will spark my brain and say "Hey, another good one, let's try again" Or in the case of someone who annoyed me, i'll try to erase the black mark, but no rep. (unless it's exceptional) I guess if anyone is curious on their standing, just PM me.

Naturally these are my arbritrary rules on what I see as a fairly unimportant thing. Though a nice ego boost when it happens.

  3. Re: Does Hero System "break" at higher levels, and if so, at what level?

At high levels the system doesn't really breakdown, but there are some different aspects.

Killing attacks do more knockback after 7d6 for example.

However, I don't have a problem at high levels. I think the game is better at the 500-800 point range. However, you have to make sure that the characters are balanced with each other and the universe. But that's at any level, it just takes a little more attention to detail the higher you go.

It took me forever to realize that l33t meant "elite."

I honestly only found out only last week.

I'm a dinosaur that deserves extinction.

I tend to glaze over on l33t speak. I find it pretty stupid so I have only passing knowledge of it.

I was so ready to enjoy the pizza that is going to be provided for staff meeting later today. Right up until I needed to answer nature's call, and fell victim to the phenomenon that every adult male has encountered at least once:

A mound of crap so immense that the guy before you either couldn't or wouldn't flush it down.

    Too much pizza apparently.

  6. Re: A Thread for Random Musings

So I've been driving my wife's 33 year old VW Super Beetle. It's not happy with the weather or the fact it isn't driven very often so he stalls often especially when the engine is still cold.

So he stalls in traffic and doesn't want to start again. I switch on the hazard lights and work the ignition a bit and the car behind me starts laying in on the horn. Since the car doesn't start, I figure I need to make sure the hazard lights are working. For some reason, when I step out of the car, the guy stops honking, goes in reverse, then swings out around and out of there (cutting someone off in the process). I watch him zip by and then check the hazards. They were working.

I really need to get this car working better. It's got great headroom and decent legroom for my 6'8" height.

Now the water's coming through holes in the ceiling, and there's only one room (the study, where the computer is) that it isn't coming through the ceiling.

Yeah, sure, they took care of the problem upstairs today...

I think it's time for an attorney...

Crimmey! That's messed up. Give 'em heck.

Hmm... maybe I should have stuck that line in the Mightybec Story thread..?

With you it's less expected of you to come up with stomach wrenching stuff. So the shock factor worked.

But then I had to wash a case of cat food because one of the cans had a stress fracture sometime during the summer, rotted, resealed until I picked up the case. Let's just say, the smell isn't all that great and the insect carcasses add a bit of odd touch.

  9. Re: The cranky thread

Sure, because you passed it on to me, Klytus...

Feel flu-like, I have a wicked chill I can't get rid of, achey. Need to stay for a 10 AM meeting, probably leaving after if possible, if I don't feel any better. I might feel better as the morning gets going, we'll see.

Yea! Make those people pay for having a meeting!

and I'll just have to second RR50's "ew".

  10. Re: Musings on Random Musings

For some reason' date=' today, I do. There are so many people who post on these boards, who really have [b']something[/b] to say. I was just feeling a bit guilty for having quantity, but not necessarily quality.

I think you've added substance. Plus we get to see more of your avatar. :D
