I look at the hands resting on the keyboard. Whose hands are they? Not mine. These hands are old, leathery things, showing the wrinkles of age as they methodically poke at the keys. And the wedding band is especially out of place. They cannot be mine! Can they? I watch them, as they go about their business, with complete detachment--as though I were watching strange creatures at the zoo. They ignore me, continuing their work with no thought for the human sitting behind them, watching with fascination. I wonder, what will they do next?

Finally having registered over at RPG.net, I decided to spend a day over there and see what they were like.
 
I find that the HERO forum participants are more evenly spread over the political spectrum, with solid intellects representing both left and right. RPG.net is far more heavily populated by those on the left and extreme left, particularly foreign leftists, and they hold an overwhelming numbers advantage over those representing the right. The right-wingers, however, are far better at debate and articulating their viewpoint, in general with exceptions. The troll rates and use of vulgarity are also much higher there.

While I'm here, I ought to post something I just completed the other day. I've posted the black and white version of this piece in this thread before, and now here's the color version. The original had a few "speedlines" to denote motion. Here, I"ve erased those in favor of the backdrop. I found a picture of the New York skyline that was at a perfect angle for my needs, and motion blurred it. Looks pretty decent if I do say so!

Not too bad. sleeping alot on the couch. So I go back to the couch after my earlier post, and get some nap time in. Jenn checks in on me before heading out to some work for a friend. I go back to sleep and barely after Jenn takes off, someone knocks on the door. It's open, so I attempt to ask who is it. Being that I'm breathing through my mouth exclusively based on the wads of gauze and blood stuffed into my nose, I barely manage it.
It's a solicitor for some roofing company (we have a brand new roof) and he won't go until he makes sure I see what he can do for me.
I get up, walk to the door, and tell him to go away. He practically runs. Sure enough, I had a nice trickle of dried blood around my mouth and throat again.

How long has it been since you woke up from the surgery? Anasthetics are frequently depressants, and ya gotta believe this, they will depress you. That will explain the crying. Drink lots of water. Don't dehydrate yourself. Ya gotta wash all the anasthetics out of your system. Trust me on this.

In the GURPS "Firefly" (sci-fi) campaign that I'm in, our ship landed on our doctor's home planet. He was immeadiately kidnapped by the locals and moved to a secret location. The rest of the crew did some digging and discovered that our seemingly poor doctor was the son of the richest family on the planet. He had inherited everything, but had been declared dead by the trustee so he could keep everything (the doctor hadn't been on the planet for 7 years, he ran off to fight for the losers of the browncoat/alliance war and was thought to be dead).
 
So the group assaults the place he's being held, frees him and rushes towards the hospital (while being pursued) so he can be genetically scanned and have his identity confirmed when this thoughtful, sensitive exchange took place:
 
Doctor: Where are we going? Why did those men kidnap me? What's going on?!?
 
Engineer: Your old buddy planned on killing you to keep you from inheriting your family's empire and taking it from him. You're rich! You own half this planet! Isn't that shiny?
 
Doctor: Wait ... my parents are dead?
 
Engineer: Um, yeah. Sorry about that. I guess I kinda skipped past that part.
