  1. Re: Considering a new campaign idea and format I'll keep an eye out. It looks really interesting. A shared origin/shared powers avoids one of the potential pitfalls of Galactic Champs, since you don't get the wildly varying power levels/defenses. If you need someone who's an experienced PbP player and occasional FtF GM to bounce ideas off of (I'm not sure I have the time to take on a full Co-GM duties), I'll be happy to help.
  2. Re: Strange VPP Construct... ideas? Don't let HeroDesigner force you to more difficult constructs. If you can work out the point cost, just use a custom adder to adjust the cost to what it should be and put the calculations in the description. The other way is technically illegal, though I would allow it if that was the only way the VPPs could be used (normally you can't use one VPP to modify another). The way Hugh laid it out (not sure if the two Full Phase ones is a typo) seems the most correct to me.
  3. Re: Horizon Academy (Teen Champions) Notes If you run this online, count me in if you would!
  4. Re: New Teen Champions: Ravenswood Academy Decloak Count me as another Provisional!
  5. Re: Interesting power for help and discussion It's going to be an awfully expensive power for it's effect. I'd almost make it a distinctive features, extreme reaction, requires special senses.
  6. Re: Crowd control overpowering game Ego entangles aren't too bad if you go under the assumption that you have to buy all the advantages per the FAQ on the subject (Based on ECV, Transparent to attack and I think there's one more) and that ANY ego power can be used as an attack to break it down (Much like any damaging power can take down a normal entangle). If the team doesn't have someone with a mental power at all, then it's probably too much, but if they do, it's probably not much effort to crack it open. At the very least any damaging ECV power should (whether it does body or not under normal circumstances.)
  7. Re: Looking for Spidery names ... sort of. Let's not forget mythology. Particularly the african god Anansi, who's a spider god and a trickster. It's been used before, but what hasn't http://www.pantheon.org/articles/a/anansi.html Perhaps use the carribeanized version of the name: Annecy Looking around I also see Dijen, a Senneca indian figure who sounds like he'd make a great brick http://www.pantheon.org/articles/d/djien.html
  8. I have to agree that there should be no "Only with extra limbs" limitation on the STR, since the extra limbs are in almost all ways superior to the regular limbs. About the only thing he'd lose is leaping, and since you bought so much of that with advantages, it's essentially irelevant. Also, since it's a compound power in the same slot with the extra limbs, it's going to be drained together with the extra limbs anyway, so saying "But the limbs can be drained" doesn't cut it.
  9. I like the multipower idea. With it, you don't need shapeshift or multiform (with the GM's permission of course.) Remember that physical changes can be part of power activation and I certainly wouldn't have a problem with intermediate forms from various combinations of powers in variable multipower slots, alone or in combination with powers outside the slot.
  10. Let's not forget that if you have someone in a hold they cannot break out of and are able to consistently damage the opponent (even just doing STR squeeze damage) you have a huge collection of bonuses to your PRE attack. You could easily be getting enough bonus dice to overcome not having a terribly high presence yourself. Also, remember that presence isn't a physical thing (though appearances can be part of it) and, to use the example mentioned earlier, Royce Gracie would have a reasonably high presence, since when you look at him he's showing no fear and he's unflinchingly taking on all comers.
  11. The key is to focus on special effects. There's always the temptation to buy autofire hand attacks and things like that, but you don't always need to have everything in the mechanics. As was pointed out, just buy a couple more dice of hand attack to represent hitting them alot. Buy skill levels to represent having "extra time" to do things. Creative use of change environment can represent speed tricks like cleaning up a whole area in seconds. Things like that. Don't get caught up on trying to get everything done by repetition, do it by definition.
  12. I tend to think that if there's no change in Disads, OIHID makes more sense. Multiform should be avoided unless it's necessary (personal bias, since it is a highly abusable power).
  13. the best place I know of is The Last Grenadier. They've had all the books pretty much as soon as they were available. I haven't been to the new store since they moved a couple of months ago, but its still the same people, so I'm sure they're keeping up. I think the new address is 820 N. Hollywood Way.
  14. what are you trying to simulate? Making this instant means that he'll dissapear and immediately reappear. I think you need to leave it constant to achieve what you're going for. If I'm missing something, let me know...
