The new sense modifier "Adjacent" is good for short range drones, they'll peek around corners, etc. Longer range you'd have to use Clairsentience with a bunch of multiples on movement to make it quick enough. Fuel charges for the batteries, if they run out. A weird dedicated vehicle works too, but here's a more on point question:
how do you build a recorder in Hero? A video and audio recorder?

I would be curious as to the reasoning a character would be different than an object (which are specifically stated to be destroyed at 0 body right in drain itself)
Probably the same reason inanimate objects are destroyed by drains: they cannot recover. However, "official ruling" or not, I'd say its up to the GM based on the special effect.

Lots of DEX, balance, bladed boots, acrobatics (flips and such), high speed movement on ice, which naturally they have provided for them by underlings

Chagrak: Although not a tree, this desert bush has wood of such durability and hardness it is used for some tribes and cultures as a substitute for iron. The finished wood is grayish tan in color with streaks of white in it, and can be quite attractive.Chagrak is quite heavy, and require very hard stone and great strength and patience to carve and work. Since the bushes do not grow much larger than a man is tall, it cannot be used for something like a greataxe blade, but will function as iron for smaller structures like spearpoints, daggers, or maces.Although hard and heavy as iron, Chagrak has a base PD of only 5, but ED of 7. It also does not hold an edge as well, so edged weapons lose a damage class on an 11- chance per successful hit against any hard object (such as armor or a shield). Chagrak takes a -3 roll to work.Hey, desert dwelling beastmen and orc tribes need low tech alternatives.

By depth do you mean using all optional maneuvers?
You don't even need to use optional rules. Just plain blocking, aborting phases (block, dodge), delaying phases, and extra time on some powers can make a big change in who goes when.

A lot of these concepts sound like they could be simulated without any actual summoning going on. In other words: sending a message - Mind Link, Mind Scan, Telepathy, etc. Grab items: Telekinesis. To make them seem like summons, you could put extra time to start the power, add in gestures, and requires a skill roll ego roll to control the creature (every use/turn to simulate needing to control them for every new command).

This looks valid, although suppressed powers come back soon as the power isn't on them any more, so its up to the GM what happens when someone is reduced below -0 Body; do they stay dead? Are they risen as Zombies? Are they just "mostly dead" and heal up?

I think at least some of the time people find Hero too regimental and predictable is the result of people not taking advantage of all the depth of strategy possible in a Hero battle.

Well you can set a drag anchor like a drogue (a sail formed into essentially a funnel) but mostly yeah; just drift with the tide and to a lesser extent wind. When you're in deep blue, there's no danger, and they kept watches for danger.

You can't usually put in for the night when you're in the middle of an open water crossing.
Its not a matter of "putting in," its a matter of stopping progress during the night. This was historically standard for galleys and even some sailing ships.

The thing is, going first isn't necessarily an advantage. Often, going after others allows you to better react to their moves. With things like delayed phase, delaying, aborted phases, blocks, and so on combat ends up a lot more dynamic than it might seem with rigid speed and DEX numbers.

It depends a lot on what sort of games you are wanting to run. For example, there are quite a few interesting Pulp books out there for early 20th century adventure like Indiana Jones. I have a bunch of Fantasy Hero books available in pdf and in print, and Michael Surbrook has a terrific tall tales book called Larger Than Life

Honestly, figured characteristics made Hero for me, but I'm willing to work without them. It was just one of the big selling points when I learned about the game, it just made sense.

Non-Transparent Balancing.
This is a big thing for me, because it lets me codify how things fit together. There are some rare exceptions but almost always you can get a finger on how the power or item compares to others. D&D you have Create Light and Magic Missile in the same "spell level" or Cure Light wounds and Sanctuary. Hero shows the way these things don't work out when just the GM or game designer insists they do in other games.

If a car is a zero point "Everyman" perk, putting Bat-stickers on the side doesn't change that.
Yeah unless it does something special, like fly and go underwater, has guns, is bulletproof, or something... its just a car. Maybe 1 point to make it impossible to connect to the superhero and recognized or something.

I've never had any trouble with how Hero scales down to normal people from superheroes. Its just a matter of turning some dials and flicking some switches.
With how games have borrowed elements and concepts from Hero so much, its harder these days to make the argument but I used to be able to convert D&D players to hero pretty easily by the various superior mechanics.

I've heard that Magneto kills hundreds of millions of people by destroying multiple cities, but the X-Men are all buddies with him anyway, that sounds troubling.

I agree, I left that off but Body/Stun/END is a big Hero thing for me.

Point buy, complications, constructing abilities from the ground up with modifiers and powers, the speed system, defenses rather than avoidance, and the OCV/DCV conflict

Hearing really mixed reviews of X-Men, some think it was impressive and interesting, others think it was a jumbled mess that was full of "what the??" moments.

Blade guns are a good idea for apocalyptic scenarios. A bit front-heavy but it makes sense to have something at hand when you run out of ammo. Just get to the gunsmith after using, because you probably bent that barrel

You know how it is with role playing games. Any weapon with an East Asian origin will usually be at least a little bit better than its European counterpart.
I would like this fifty times if I could.

Those are pretty creepy It is worth including, have to come up with something they do other than look macabre.

Yeah its a design disagreement on my part. I have quite a few minor changes in my weapons list from the 'official' one (which is in the text described as 'optional' and 'examples').

My concern with using Eidetic Memory is this from the description:
Which seems to suggest its not exactly a recording so much as subjective memory, which isn't quite the same as a video and audio recording.
