1. A couple days ago, I came up with a very strange character idea. Think of this one as a mix of Anime and Dark Champions, like Golgo 13 or Kite, and further blended with the unholyness of Hamtaro. Presenting: Gunner, the Hamster Hitman Gunner - VAL CHA Cost Total Roll Notes -15 STR -25 -15 6- HTH Damage -3d6 END [0] 20 DEX 30 20 13- OCV 7 DCV 7 12 CON 4 12 11- 2 BODY -16 2 9- 15 INT 5 15 12- PER Roll 12- 12 EGO 4 12 11- ECV: 4 0 PRE -10 0 9- PRE Attack: 0d6 20 COM 5 20 13- 0 PD 0 0/3 0/3 PD (0/3 rPD) 2 ED 0 2 2 ED (0 rED) 4 SPD 10 4 Phases: 3, 6, 9, 12 2 REC 0 2 24 END 0 24 8 STUN 0 8 1 RUN -10 1" END [1] 0 SWIM -2 0" END [0] 0 LEAP 0 0" 0" forward, 0" upward CHA Cost: -5 Cost POWERS 25 Luck 5d6 - END= 27 Tiny Pistol: (Total: 61 Active Cost, 27 Real Cost) Killing Attack - Ranged 1 point (5 Active Points); OAF (-1), 4 clips of 6 Charges (-1/4) (Real Cost: 2) plus Killing Attack - Ranged 3d6, Trigger (Must electronically signal the bullet to explode; +1/4) (56 Active Points); OAF (-1), 4 clips of 6 Charges (-1/4) (Real Cost: 25) - END= 5 Another Pistol: Same as above - END= 5 Fine Mesh harness: Armor (3 PD/0 ED) - END= 26 Miniature Sniper rifle: (Total: 89 Active Cost, 26 Real Cost) Killing Attack - Ranged 1 point, Increased Maximum Range (875"; +1/2), Indirect ( Any origin, always fired away from attacker; +1/2) (10 Active Points); Extra Time (1 Turn (Post-Segment 12), Character May Take No Other Actions, Loading the bullet; -1 1/2), 4 clips of 1 Charge (-1 1/4), OAF (-1) (Real Cost: 2) plus Killing Attack - Ranged 3d6, Trigger (Electronic signal to make bullet explode; +1/4), Penetrating (+1/2) (79 Active Points); 4 clips of 1 Charge (-1 1/4), OAF (-1) (Real Cost: 24) - END= POWERS Cost: 88 Cost MARTIAL ARTS 4 Basic Shot: 1/2 Phase, +0 OCV, +0 DCV, Range +2, Strike, +7 DC 3 Defensive Shot: 1/2 Phase, -1 OCV, +2 DCV, Range +0, Strike +5 DC 5 Distance Shot: 1+1 Phase, +0 OCV, -2 DCV, Range +6, Strike +5 DC , +1 Segment 5 Far Shot: 1/2 Phase, +1 OCV, -1 DCV, Range +4, Strike +5 DC 5 Offensive Ranged Disarm: 1/2 Phase, +1 OCV, -1 DCV, Range +2, Disarm, 20 STR to Disarm 4 Offensive Shot: 1/2 Phase, -1 OCV, -1 DCV, Range +0, Strike, +9 DC 5 Offensive Trip: 1/2 Phase, +1 OCV, -1 DCV, Range +0, Strike +5 DC +v/5, Target Falls 4 Quick Shot: 1/2 Phase, +1 OCV, +0 DCV, Range +0, Strike, +7 DC 4 Ranged Disarm: 1/2 Phase, +0 OCV, +0 DCV, Range +0, Disarm, 25 STR to Disarm 4 Trip: 1/2 Phase, -1 OCV, -1 DCV, Range +2, v/5, Target Falls 20 +5 Ranged Damage Class(es) MARTIAL ARTS Cost: 63 Cost SKILLS 13 +10 with Concealment (20 Active Points); Self Only (-1/2) 20 +10 with Stealth 50 +10 with DCV 10 Two-Weapon Fighting (Ranged) 5 WF: Common Melee Weapons, Small Arms, Off Hand 3 Tactics 12- 2 KS: Underworld 11- 10 Defense Maneuver I-IV 30 +6 with Ranged Combat SKILLS Cost: 143 Cost TALENTS 9 Ambidexterity (no Off Hand penalty) 15 Beast Speech 14 Fearless TALENTS Cost: 38 Value DISADVANTAGES 15 Physical Limitation: Minute (+15" KB, 64cm tall, 0.0032 kg) (Frequently, Greatly Impairing) 15 Dependent NPC: Sata Kohashi (7 year old owner) 14- (Normal; Useful Noncombat Position or Skills) 5 Distinctive Features: Cute little Hamster (Easily Concealed; Noticed and Recognizable; Detectable By Commonly-Used Senses) 15 Psychological Limitation: Casual Killer (Common, Strong) 20 Psychological Limitation: Loyal to Sata Kohashi (Common, Total) DISADVANTAGES Points: 70 Base Pts: 75 Exp Required: 182 Total Exp Available: 182 Exp Unspent: 0 Total Character Cost: 327 Background: When Gunner was born as a pink eraser-like hamster baby, it was said he was born with two .50 desert eagles in his paws. Well, maybe not quite... Two years ago, a japanese girl named Sata Kohashi was orphaned when a Yakuza assassin murderred her parents. The only family remaining was her pet hamster, Gunner. Somehow, Gunner seemed to have access to some strange weapons, miniature guns. Sata found out about that, and learned of their deadly effects. With that, she began a business of contract killing just to make ends meet. She would handle the paperwork, and Gunner would handle the killing. And Gunner couldn't be happier. :3 Personality: Imagine a cold-hearted hitman like Golgo 13. Now imagine that killer as an adorable little hamster. Now imagine that he only targets the really bad people; the rapists, the pedophiles, the extortionists, and other killers. Basically, we have a vigilante hamster, thanks to Sata's professional standards. He is also extremely loyal to the little orphan girl. Quote: (usually in a chipper voice) "Does this mean I have another hit to make?" Powers/Tactics: Imagine a cold-hearted hitman like Golgo 13. Now imagine that killer as an adorable little hamster. With tiny guns. That have explosive bullets. Gunner's tactic is to perch up somewhere and snipe. Failing that, it's pull-out-the-guns-and-start-blasting. Fairly simple, fairly violent. It's not like anyone's gonna report the little hammy. Who's gonna beleive that a hamster killed a man? Campaign Use: Campaign Use? Maybe as a 'twisted as all heck' adversary. Gunner only hunts if there's a contract on the hunted. And you would most likely not expect the assault anyways. Appearance: Gunner is a little hamster who looks very much like Hamtaro. With Guns. And a black harness for the guns. :3
2. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Linear HERO, with 1 dimensional characters. Point hero, what dimensions?
3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Long ago, on Furcadia, I was with a couple of friends. My character was a vulpine ghost, and I was hanging out with Jezebel (a vulpine-dragon-succubus) and Silver (a dragon). One of us took a picture of the other two and Jeze and Silver were debating who got to sell the picture. Then I said "I'm pretty sure the money for it will go to all involved parties." Then Jeze said, "But we never have any panties." There was a long pause. Then I said "Okay. We didn't need to know that." The fun of typos.
4. Re: [Possible Game] Furry Heroes Well, puns are not needed for a furry world, but they were included in those settings because they were intended to be comical. Just my 2 bits worth.
5. Re: Lost and Found super-ads Found: Orange colored cat with white zig-zag markings. Please call 555-KITY for return. Lost: Sanity. Please return to Johnny Xtreme. Finding it may feel like someone took a tray of cookies and baked them up your ***. Reward available to the max! EDIT: Car, Cat, one space difference on the keyboard...
6. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Animaniacs HERO
7. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares "Are you Pondering what I'm Pondering?" "I think so, Brain, but who'd want to see Snow White and the Seven Samurai?" ^.^ Cast a Deadly Spellbound (where Spelling has nothing to do with vocabulary) Roger Rabbit and Me (a documentary by Micheal Moore, simply making money off of unfortunate, jobless toons) Animaniac Mansion (need I say more?) EDIT: All Your Basic Instinct
8. Re: Dmfa Hero I didn't write the comic. I just posted the link to see what somebody might think of DMFA in HERO system.
9. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Is that the story of the Clintons?
10. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Match Game of Death Becomes Her
11. This Situation is written with the following assumptions: Long ago, when your character was a child, s/he looked up to a hero, but the hero has since dies in mysterious circumstances. It is now a cold case. It has been one for at least a decade. Phase 1: Now, your character is receiving visions in his/her dreams: The hero you so were enamored with in your youth is now trying to get you to investigate the murder. Who is this hero? What would your character do? Would you be able to get your companions to help?
12. I kinda wonder what a Fantasy Hero game like this would be like: http://www.missmab.com What do you folks think?
13. Re: Capes and Claws: Furry "Champions" Mining Cartoons is not a good idea for Capes and Claws. And here's why: C&C is intended to be a serious superhero universe, similar to (though hopefully without the recent suckage of) Marvel or DC. As a result, it is best to avoid the overt silliness of cartoons.
14. Re: Capes and Claws: Furry "Champions" Well, animal abilities are not "superhuman" in this kind of a world. However, the powers presented do stack on top of what you will normally find in the animal characters.
15. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) XTreme HERO To The Max is not about normal persons. Strange Forum HERO

Original

Re: Original I noticed nobody else has enterred. Not that I likely will, since my most original character is not entirely original.
20. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares X-Men Saga (Marvel's X-Men meets Excel Saga: Just imagine Jean Grey constantly dying, Cyclops knowing the Space Butler, Jubilee being unable to keep her monologues internal, Beast leading the Afro-Warriors, and Wolverine apparently being saught after as an emergency food supply. Oh, and there's a plot that only takwe place in the last five official issues and a speacial issue that's all about going too far.)
21. Re: [Possible Game] Furry Heroes Let's move along before this gets out of line and offends anyone with vulgar stereotyping...
22. Re: Capes and Claws: Furry "Champions" I actually watch that show. Not as bad as it initially sounded. Makes me glad to have kept an open mind.
23. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Somebody else did that. Hampions/Chamtaro (a blend of Champions and Hamtaro.)
24. I am working on building up a superhero universe that is entirely populated by anthropomorphic animals. This will be a "serious" universe, not a joke like the Zoo Crew's Earth-C or Supermegatopia. This is more akin to the Champions Universe or Extinctioners (though I seem absolutely incapable of fnding the latter). So far: Here are some characters I have concepts for: The Sentinels (sample superteam) *Psion/Terrence Fenn (Fennec Fox mentalist. Team leader. Talent (their term for mutant) and ex-cop) *Bounder/Garrett Broder (Border Collie Speedster. Country-boy who developed his own martial arts style to take advanteage of his "talent") *Paladin/Richard Darian (Raccoon Power-armor-jock. Natural genius who built his own suit.) *Tesla/Tess Darian (Raccoon Energy-projector (electricity). Gained her powers from an electrical accident. Youngest member of the team.) *Morfox (Magical Construct Metamorph. Think T-1000 as a hero, but without the ability to change its coloration.) Master Villains (all independant except for flunkies) *Alexander (Horse Megalomaniac. Greek themed master villain who might be the reincarnation of Alexander the Great.) *Lady Tiamat (Dragon sorceress. Origin unknown, but she seems to be very much interested in acquiring power for it's sake.) Other Heroes *Wonder Weasel/Henry Heralds (Weasel stretcher. Old WWII hero, powers manifested after exposure to an Axis Bio-weapon. Died in 1965 fighting a communist villain. Reported as the first modern superhero) *Visionary I/Robert Laurel (Lapine energy blaster. Can fire eye-beams and has many different vision powers. Died in 1998.) *Visionary II/Leanne Laurel (Daughter of Robert Laurel. Was blinded as a teenager. When her father died, the eyes were transplanted, and her own Talent blood kicked in giving her the powers through her father's eyes. Noted as the first successful full-eye-transplant patient. Fights crime because she at least owes her father that much... or so she thinks.) *Pack/Robin Gilliam (Lupine Duplicator. Subjected to experiments in his youth that have inadvertently given him the power to duplicate) Independant Villains *Wraith/Jimmy Harker (Feline stalker. He has the power of invisibility, being able to make himself imperceivable. He went to stalking and killing supers so as to compensate for what he feels are his inadequacies.) *Pan (Mouse Vampire. Looks like a small child. He tends to induct children into the ranks of his "lost cubs" and has been known to get some adult muscle into his gang. He seeks solely to maintain his unholy existance. He might have been around since the middle ages.) And that's all for ideas so far. Feel free to offer other ideas.
