  1. NOTE: I am not planning on running this as a campaign, I am merely presenting this as something to think about.

It is said that every ship has its rats, and it would seem that even starships have this problem.

Thijnk in terms of Star Trek, where the ship in question is a combination of explorer vessel and colony ship (at least in ST: TNG). However, not only do we have humans abord, but living within the works are rodents of many different kinds, mostly some form of mouse however. They have even developed their own culture on board the ship, hidden from human eyes.

For example, as the ship stops at various planets and crew members are beamed down to explore, the mice even have their own transporter technology adapted from what the humans have.

Beyond all that, this is basically Star Trek.

    How does this idea sound?

  2. Let's say you had an energy blaster who could manipulate her own energy blasts so they they could change direction when neccesary, making it possible to maneuver it around people you don't want to hit and go after the person you do want to hit.

How would you make such a power, whether it be an Energy Blast or a Ranged Killing Attack? The interest is in the modifiers.

  3. Re: WSWYCK: Karaoke Night

I'll have to think about this...

Lab Rat has no singing talent, but he'd try just because he's been bullied into it. His song choice would likely be "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk, or similarly the song "Digital Love." The only techno songs he knows that have lyrics that can be understood.

Sonic Eagle thinks himself more of a reporter and crimefighter than a singer. But he'd try something of the Barry White variety.

Kitsune is pretty good at singing, and would probably do a Japanese song. Perhaps "I look up when I walk" (known in America as "Sukiyaki.")

Lyle Lynx would probably have set a bomb somewhere major, and arranged a condition in which if Reinard the Fox doesn't do a concert before a live audience, with news coverage, the bomb will detonate. Hopefully, there will be cops seeking the bomb to disarm it, but in the meantime, Reinard will be giving performances of "Foxy Lady" by Jimi Hendrix, "20th Century Fox" by the Doors, "Fox on the Run" by Sweet, all up to the most humiliating part, an impromptu rhyming to the classic tune 'Merry-go-round Broke Down' (from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, remember the Bar scene before Judge Doom arrived.) Lynx's goal: Vulpine Humiliation. If the bomb went off, it wouldn't matter. if it were disarmed, it wouldn't matter.

  4. Re: Mythbusters!

I think that's better. Mythbusters is' date=' after all, about things some people think might actually be sort of possible. Everyone knows that Superman and the Hulk are doing impossible things.[/quote']

Well, the "Finger in the Barrel" myth is certainly one that nobody would reasonably consider even plausible (as far as your hand being safe).

Though for the most part, that is true.

  5. Re: WWYCD? Women City Savers Only

Lab Rat would do so in a heartbeat just so he can help save the city. Unlike most teenage boys, he puts more priority in heroism than masculinity. And besides, it's only a week, and he never really saw the personality differences as anything but stereotype anyway.

Sonic Eagle: "Only a week? I'll just say my sister temorarily took up the mantle if anybody asks afterwards."

Reinard the Fox would probably have the most trouble adapting to being a woman. The reason being that cartoon women are not as cartoony as cartoon men. Though he does acknowledge that there are rare exceptions, which he may have to put to the forefront (resulting in a sort of Minerva Fox kind of look). She would then try to get in as fast as possible to get away from the guys outside.

Kitsune is already female, and would resort to stealth and steal the artifact responsible for the spell.

  6. Liberty Lash

Background: Wanda Williams has always been an 'empowered' woman, never taking guff from anyone. Yeah, she was picked last for football in her childhood, once, and she never worried about stuff like that. She was just good at proving herself in virtually all feilds. She's just talented like that.

As she grew up, she started to demonstrate signs of unusual tastes, collecting magazines that had pictures of male captives and the women who gave them all the lashings they wanted. Her parents were concerned and tried to send her to a psychiatrist, who himself figured that she was simply going through a phase in experimental sexuality. This would be nothing to be concerned over as ultimately, she will not inflict any genuine harm.

When she finally left high school, she had plans to take up a college education, and she had a plan to working her way through. She would work at a local bondage club as a dominatrix and make ends meet that way, working up funds until she was ready for college. One day, a government official came into the club "seeking a break from power." She was assigned to him and the two, between flagellations and commands, had a conversation on the state of the world. Wanda expressed a desire to do some good for America, but was concerned that she would not be hired on the basis of her sexual preferences. Over the course of many sessions, shje and the official were able to get a creatively worded resume written up for the President to reveiw, and oddly enough, she was hired on the spot.

    And that's how a girl-next-dungeon bercame a flagsuit superheroine!

Personality: Wanda is actually a very well-adjusted woman given her seemingly unusual veiw of the world. She's very much a patriot thanks to her all-american family and she also in relatively good cheer most of the time. (a representation of America can't afford the long basset face). Of course, she can be very serious if she needs to be.

Quote: "I am Liberty Lash, and you've been very bad..."

Powers: Liberty Lash uses skills learned from her spare-time BDSM hobby and expanded in her actual dominatrix job. The rest is mostly improvised.

Campaign Use: Only if the player or GM in question is crazy.

Appearance: Liberty Lash stands at 5'1" and weights 139 pounds. She's in her 20's now and dresses in a leather outfit colored red, white, and blue like the American Flag. Fortunately, she was not given high-heels to do all that hero-stuff in. Her hair and eyes are both brown.

Explanation: This character is really just a joke, and has nothing to do with my personal preferences. In many ways, I will admit that Liberty Lash is a stereotype, or more specifically, a joke based off of a stereotype. The intention is to have fun, not to offend anyone. If you happen to be into stuff like that, that's fine. Just understand that I may have a lot of things wrong.

  7. Re: Your Superhero Identity for Today

    Here's mine, with criticisms...

    "Name: Green Dude"

I could easily come up with better.

    "Secret Identity: Adam Leisemann"

    Well, they got that right.

    "Special Power: Psionic Breath"

Psionic breath? How is that possible?

    "Transportation: Quantum Car"

I'd like to see how big that is, see if it might be good for helping my brother in Driver's Ed.

    "Weapon: X-Ray Blunderbuss"

'oh, sorry ma'am. I must've missed and gotten a look at you. By the way, I noticed a fracture in one of your ribs. Are you alright?'

    "Costume: Spandex Mask"

And hopefully other clothes as well, or else my power would actually be an aura of fear.

    "Sidekick: the Professor"

'Professor, I need you to calculate the precise amount of force to restrain Ogre.'

    '48.'

    Riiiiiiiight....

    "Nemesis: Melvin the Blue"

    Oh noes! It's an emo-kid!

    "Tragic Flaw: Addicted to love"

Not being a romantic, I kinda doubt that...

    "Favorite Food: Chocolate"

This is actually a bit truer for my mother, but I can certainly see this being close to accurate, See above Aura of Fear comment.

  8. Re: Mythbusters!

*builds a robot to offer comforting hugs, Mythbusters style, based off of Bustette (a crash dummy with a wig, lipstick, and silicone added to the chest* Here's for you Weldun.

I know this isn't a very good afterthought, but maybe I should have measured how much air pressure is needed for a comforting hug rather than a bear hug...

  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Quinn: "Like how? High dose barium enema?"

Kateomi: "You want to enema the spores to death? I think I'd rather expose myself to the ship's reactor core and take my chances with radiation poisoning."

Viceroy: "I'm not sure which bothers me more, the fact Kateomi might die or that the first cure that pops into Quinn's head is a marathon enema party."

Kateomi: "If I live, remind me not to accept any invitations to one of your parties."

    Sorry, I cannot resist...

"With friends like these, who needs an enema?"

  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

The PCs have found a handy magical device which makes it obvious who's on which side by assigning colors. The good guys are blue, bad guys are red; those undecided, neutral or changing their minds show up as purple.

Upon figuring this out, Flora declares, "Go team blue!"

    ----------

Daris, outnumbered 24 to 1, is sneaking past some guards, and flubs his Stealth. He steps on a stick, which snaps, and half the encampment turns to look at him. He lies his way into not getting shot immediately, and they ask him to turn over his weapons.

"Okay, but what about theirs?" he says, indicating the army several hundred feet behind him.

    GM: "They look."

    Daris: "I run."

    ---------

After Daris pulls an impressively stupid stunt, Rastal says, "You're stealing my moves!"

Daris replies, "You can have them back now. Thank you."

    Brilliant lines. Woo Hoo!

  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Teen Champions game, at Ravenswood. In an attempt to teach some of the cockier students (of which mine is one) a little humility, CLOWN has been brought in to run some training simulations with the students.

My character, being a colossal rule-bender and not believing in the concept of the unwritten rule, grills the proctor over the conditions.

Me: "Have they had access to our files ... y'know, our powers and abilities and all that jazz?"

Proctor: "Yes, and you get to look at theirs."

    (Later, right before the test)

Me (to two teammates): "Everybody swap Image Inducers so they have no idea who's who." (to GM)

    GM: *facedesk*

Me: "Oh, by the way, can I buy the Tactics skill?"

Pulling Pranks on CLOWN... I love it!

  12. Re: Shoujo Ninja Hero

    Shoujo elements:

If this was a shoujo series, the one girl/many boys situation automatically yields "reverse harem". All of them must fall in love with her as seen in Tenshi na Konamaiki, Corda D'oro, and Ouran High School Host Club. You really might want to take a look at Ouran since it's a parody of shoujo, that actually includes a superhuman martial artist as a member of the harem (although there are only two chapters in about 50 where this actually matters). Additionally, the boys are usually substantially better looking than girl (just as in a shonen harem you'll see a guy who is nothing all that special surrounded by beautiful girls who are inexplicable drawn to him).

Well, I figured in the vein of all the martial arts movies and shows, it would be a mixed-sexes kind of school club, thought I can definitely see more than one guy (maybe even a girl, as girls seem to like both BL and yuri) having an interest in our heroine. I'll be sure to ask my brother about renting some of these on Netflix. Thank you. *bows respectfully*
