  1. Re: Name Help: Daemonic Hero He bears the burden willingly. As long as this particular demon is bound, the legions of hell cannot invade the mortal world. As a side note, some of the research that I have been doing has revealed the difference between a dæmon and a demon. A dæmon refers to "good or malevolent supernatural beings between mortals and gods, such as inferior divinities and ghosts of dead heroes" and a "spiritual being of a lowly order that is largely evil" of Greek Mythology. Strange how I never came across this for my Nephilim character.
  2. I'm currently toying with a build for a character. The concept is a normal human who is the living prison for a daemon. Basically he's a mystically themed brick whose skin is etched with seraphic wards from the neck down. He has a problem in the hour of the wolf (3am to 4am) where the daemon struggles against the wards and occasionally asserts control. The problem is that I'm completely stumped for a name. Suggestions?
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From our DnD Eberron game, the first comes from our Warforged Artificer named Cast (Wis 3). Sir Moass Deneith d'Deneith: Are you gong to cast Heat Metal on yourself again? Cast: I'm not stupid! I learned the second time. And later when Nona, the Elven Lurk, used to dimension swap to place Sir Deneith in the place of our Cleric, Nona: Knight to Bishop One.

  5. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. Considering that during an "emergency call", it took the better part of 48 hours for the team to assemble, I think that you should be glad that we realized at all.
  6. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Drhoz, the Skeleton Crew is the evening game. Miss Chaos and the rest are in my City on the Edge campaign, in the afternoon. Also from the Skeleton Crew... The Gunny: "All these people flying around in their underwear." The Spectre: "Sir. I have always been impeccably dressed." Orca: "I don't fly." Stormlord: "Has anybody actually noticed that I'm wearing, well nothing?" Orca: "Well, then there's Miss Three." Spectre: "Well, she balances it out for the rest of us then..."

  8. Re: WWYCD: Harem Comedy from Hell No, that would be the leggy psychotic gymnast who is an expert poisoner. (Or was that first season? Crap! I can't remember.)
  9. Re: [NPC]Doom Troopers I've decided to include their Combat Rating. Offensive: 34 Defensive: 38.8 Movement: 16 Total: 88.8
  10. Re: [Character] Exterminax I think I owe you more rep.
  11. Re: [Character] Taeser That plus some superspeed and you have Johnny B from Misfits of Science.
  12. Re: WWYCD: Harem Comedy from Hell The problem is that it would largely depend on how these women approached him. He's already concealing the fact that the local VIPER supervillainess is his granddaughter from the rest of his team, and is currently happily scratching a seventy-year-itch with one of Vitus' students, so they have a reasonable chance with him. However, considering that he just recently shot Istvatha V'han (nearly killing her) he will be VERY surprised that she has now come courting him. OOC: I'm a Ranma-½ fan, so at least you haven't included a violent tomboy with a severe chemical imbalance leading to anger management problems and abusive behaviour.
  13. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. When the players' whining starts being music to your ears.
  14. Re: IHR/Genocide Robot, Minuteman Prime Do you have this as an HDC file?
  15. Re: Top Signs that you need to rethink your GMing. :nonp:Wow. It looks like people really needed to vent a little.
  16. Re: [NPC]Doom Troopers I was going for a "future-trooper" feel, as I wanted them to basically be a group of exceptional normals who, with Killzone, were a serious problem for a team of superheroes. As for the camo-system, congratulate the esteemed and prolific Mr. S. Long. I basically ripped it straight from pg 93 of Gadgets and Gear.

    [CHAR]Lynx

Re: [CHAR]Lynx Sorry about that one, I posted the wrong version. *Fixed*
  19. Re: Is it really so wrong? Tick, Tick and Tick. Are you female and single?
  20. Re: Is it really so wrong? :eg:I had forgotten about them. Here are some others that I have been dreaming up. See if you can spot them. A bunch of pseudo-medieval techno-warriors who summon hard-light holograms. 4 Giant (50ft.) Monsters. One is a Humanoid plant with super-regeneration (to the point of duplication). Another is a corspe-like humanoid T-rex that can turn animal-life (including humans) into double-size corpse-like followers and is vulnerable to sunlight. A third is a snake-like being with power over serpents and the ability to spit lightning. And finally, a demonic looking behemoth that can animate stone and stone-like statues as well as spit lava. Anthropomorhic Chimera that combine wildly disparate species like moose+seal or panda+beaver. Mind you, I have already had them meet a cuttlefish/bat hybrid, but that's a different toy line altogether. I'm still trying to figure out how to work in the truly cringe-worthy Starcom, but every time I think about it, even my mind recoils.
  21. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... lit.
  22. Re: [Character] Vilocita You know what they used to say. CON builds character.
  23. Every time you award XP, at least half the players look towards raising their defences, DCs or both.
  24. Re: Thanks from a GM One last bit of thread necromancy for the day before I (hopefully) soon head off to teach the Earth Alliance not to mess with space-raccoons. I mainly do this because the sentiment is still strong and I just want to keep it in peoples minds. I've been here for 18 months now and the experience continues to grow richer and richer.
  25. Re: Name That Band Hero! Okay, I cheated. Here's one that will likely make anyone who gets it cringe. Four girls with a bit of a "punk-rock" look. Abracadabra - A former stage magician who has taken her skills to a new level. Lovesick - A mentalist that can make you fall so in love with someone, that you forget to eat! Surprise, Surprise - This mutant not only has the ability to teleport, but also can split himself into two beings. Star Spangled Fantasy - This bombshell brickette dies her mowhawk red, white and blue. Her ripped-knee jeans and sequened jacket are a distictive look.
