Here it is The sword should be able to: 1) Stop attacks made by the wielder. 2) Have its own personality 3) Launch its own attacks if necessary 4) Make PRE Attacks against the wielder. 5) Be able to PRE attacked by the wielder. 6) Grant Resistant Protection to the wielder. 7) Not be affected by attacks other than PRE attacks and Mind Control.

    That's what Blast is for. Just build a blast against Power Defense by using AVAD, Does BODY. The limited BODY loss can be a +0 Advantage (Possibly A Limitation), Does 1/2 BODY.

    I like the "Side Effect" solution, but there is a problem. The sword can also affect him in other ways, such as preventing malicious actions and making PRE attacks against the wielder (Coming from the one who wants to build it). This is turning into a totally new character sheet.

    One of my fellow players in my Elementals Game wanted to be a flame swordsman. The problem is that he wants his sword to be its unique character, unique personality, and can stop an attack made by the sword if it were to want to. I have never once made something like this. How would you build this?

    Thanks to Grailknight, Surrealone, and Roter Baron. Here is my experimental power design. Tidal Wave: Blast 12d6. Indirect (To reverse the direction of "Reduced By Range"; +1/4), 1/2 END (+1/4), Personal Power Immunity (+1/4), AoE: Hexes (64m; +1 1/4). 180 APs. Gestures with Two Hands (-1/2), Requires a Water-Bending Roll (-1/2), Limited Range of 64m (-1/4) Reduced by Range (-1/4) Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4). 65 RPs

    I see your point. The power design seems great for my purposes. I would just have to establish a "Limited Range" of 64m (My AoE.)
