  1. My hero/Force points. I use them in all of my Heroic Level games. - Usually you get 1 for every 20 character/experience point your PC has spent. In Star Wars those strong in the force get 1/10 CP & EP spent. - standard they are one time use +1 over all level. Yes they can blow them on all on one roll. But that's usually the least interesting option. In my Star Wars game for example they do a lot of things at big negative modifiers to their skill rolls. Force points often let them smooth that out -I give them some back for especially heroic actions, a little bit of lul in game time and at the beginning of a new story arch you are maxed out. Those are the boring details. Other things to do. -use them to change a scene slightly for your advantage. Usually between 2-4. - Deeper than the last spend them for a flash back like in Bladeone s in the Dark, when appropriate narratively. 5 and more. -fix a failed rolls, for 5. Reading through your guys' I may add some options. I liked the free recovery from being stunned.
  2. Never mind found it. It's on the 5thed GM Screen.
  3. Does anyone remember the OCV/DCV matrix that was a short cut for new players, and where it is located? I've been looking for it and can't seem to find it.
  4. Yeah, converting the setting and capturing the flavor using the hero system is the challenge. Took me some time to realize, and shake that habit.
  5. I used Mudorian on a few other site. I think was Rick over at RPG.net too back then. In my mid-40s and a life of manual labor certainly doesn't feel like young blood 😁.
  6. I'd like your post but apparently I've done that too much already. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks!!!
  7. It's been a long time, and I was gone and several of you have been active. When I go through old threads I see names I recognize from those many years ago, but I remember very little but some highlights, like FRed. I really don't expect to be remembered, and since I was like 19 to 24, maybe not being remembered would be for the best. I wasn't ever super edgy, but I imagine I was a twit at times.
  8. My old handle (Rick) is attached to a college club email address. So I'm well locked out of that. Heh...
  9. I think they just had a sale for early access. Unless you mean in full release, in which case I'm hoping for that late this year or early next year. It is a small team though, and considering in early access the software works REALLY well I'm very happy with product so far.
  10. For VATS I used Find Weakness. For Mapping maybe an AK for the area.
  11. I rarely try to convert rules. I'll steal cool rules. I use "Hero Points" in my game. Fate was a system that was way too loosy goosy for me, but I loved that players could interact with a scene by spending Fate. I allow my players to do this now.
  12. As a GM yes. I've been running Hero since the 90s in some incarnation or another. I will be a player in any game and have enjoyed a myriad of systems. For GMing though, make mine Hero. I'm running a Star Wars Game with Hero right now and Talespire (Roll20 for Space combat).
  13. Anyone else playing or just messing around with Talespire? I love the thing and I'm currently using to run a Star Wars game (Hero6th). I still use roll20 for Space combat but I love the system for 3D encounter environments.
  14. My name was definitely Rick. Just found an old post.
  15. These boards were my first really internet community in the late 90s and early 00s. My old handle was was just Rick, or maybe mudorian it's been some time. I've been running Hero 5th edition since the original book was released and I bought FRed (was active on the thread that name was coined in too). I played 4th edition through most of the 90s before that Last year I FINALLY dragged my ass over to 6th Edition (purchasing the core books). Besides changing from inches to meters (easy fix on my own) and some weird naming changes, I LOVE It! Supporting this company has become important to me, again, so I just joined the patreon and bought the champions bundle on Roll20, even though I'm moving more and more to Talespire. I'm gonna try to be here a few times a week too cause I miss having a community like this and hopefully the OGL implosion over at Hasbro will attract us some new peers. Just wanted to say hi. See you around friends. Rick
  16. Is there an export format for Roll20 available. I just purchased the Champions bundle on Roll20 and I'm just curious.
  17. Just grabbed to support the cause. I'm gonna poke around in a bit.
  18. It's been many years since I've regularly posted here. In the late 90s and early 00s, though this was my first real community. Darren Watts was decent fellow and will be missed. This is a sad day.
