Cynthia Able was a normal teenager a bit of a goth but otherwise just like most teenagers. Like most girls her age she went out to drink . Meeting with friends to drink cheap booze around a bonfire in the woods. It was like many other nights but this time Cynthia got a little too drunk and wandered off into the woods where she met some very strange but very beautiful people and danced and danced and drank strange drinks and ate strange fruit. Cynthia woke up with a splitting headache In dew soaked grass in the middle of a toadstool ring her friends where gone Cynthia stumbled home dizzy and disoriented. When she let her self In to the house her mother screamed then burst into tears. Cynthia had been gone for a year and a day.
 
It was later that she discovered what she had gained in a exchange for her lost year, she discovered she could change her size shrinking down to only 6" high with glowing green skin and wings and can generate a cloud of fine glowing green dust that when inhaled causes dizziness , confusion, hallucinations and even unconsciousness. She ran away from home again unable to cope with her parents after a year missing and the media and ended up a villain by accident . Really she likes the money but could have been a hero just as easily. All she really wants is to get back to the people she met that night she suspects they are members of one of the selfie courts.

Absinthe is the team's teleporting mentalist.  She specializes in making targets feel drunk despite them not drinking anything (Mental Illusions linked to a Drain on STUN, END, and INT), and making targets fall in love with completely inappropriate people around them.  (They do say that Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder...)

Professor Collins was one of the people ostensibly in charge of the dig. But he was often absent minded. He was a trifle put out that an old suit of armour that was uncovered suddenly went missing. He thought that pieces had been taken by other museums or collectors. It did not occur to him that people around the dig were taking the armour or select bits of it. Until Susn transformed. And Ronnie suggested to him to don the mail coif. That was a mistake that Ronnie might not live to regret in the future. For Krim, or one of his lackeys, decided that this group needed direction and so empowered the coif and so subtly twisted the Professor. He is the leader of the group directing their enterprises. The coif renders him immune to mental powers. It also allows him to generate a suit of armour around himself provided the others are still conscious. The professor now styles himself as Lord Protector.
 
New Team: The Society of Masks
During the Prague Spring the genius Milos Stempf fled to the West. Unfortuantely for the world he ended up working in the Underworld. While he was skilled at adapting the work of others sometimes for mass production purposes, his real talent was creating things of flesh. Indeed his first servants the Faceless Men were remarkable. They had pits were the eyes and mouth should be. However they horrified even his allies so Milos had to find servants that were more palatable to others. And this is where the Society of Masks comes in. Originally the Society of Faceless Men, the Society began as the servants and bodyguards of their master Milos. Nowadays with Milos having seemingly vanished nearly 30 years ago, the Society exists in the shadows working on how knows what.
Membership of the Society is open to any and all but they must wear a full mask or a stylised mask such as the one in Phantom of the Opera. The sorts of masks include Greek play Chorus masks, the V for Vendetta mask and the masks in the film 300. The Halloween mask from the film of the same name is not. The members usually owe Milos something. His oldest lieutenant suffered severe injuries and was rebuilt as they did not want to die.
The Society rarely speak. They seen to have some sort of mind link to speak to each other which seems to be invisible to mental powers or detection.
Up to 7 members but a minimum of 5.
(Milos is off world and off dimension taking his genius with cloned troops to the Universe/Multiverse. But this is not known to any but the old lieutenant)

The Crystal Skull
 
Kristalno Czaszka was an agent of the KGB during the cold war. he was One of the Elite during an operation in the US he stole an experimental invisibility serum unfortunately he was hounded by federal agents and was forced to consume the serum and it worked much too well not only was kristilano rendered invisible but also intangible. it took him years to be able to pull his intangible form together enough to contact Milos who he had worked with before the fall of the Berlin wall. milos couldn't fix the problem but he could make it significantly easier for Kristalno to become partially solid. kristalno would become the society's chief assassin and spy.
 
 When he manifests he appears as faceless partially transparent undefined grey smoke like figure.to increase the intimidation factor He wears a costume of thick flowing robes with a crystal skull mask and gloves to hide his actual appearance his usual technique is to go intangible leaving his costume in a pile as a presence attack. before using his intangibility and stealth to come at opponents from unexpected angles .
 
The serum seems to have suspended his basic biological functions he does not breathe, eat or sleep and suspects that he has not aged though he can no longer judge his own appearance when he speaks it sounds like someone shouting through a thick door faint but close.
 
During his wandering years Kristalno got into a lot of secure places searching for a way to regain his tangibility and just because he could , because of this he knows a lot of secrets which he can use to blackmail some very important people

Venus
 
Helenna Vakker was considered by many the most beautiful woman in the world fashion model turned actress turned cosmetics mogul. Unfortunately beauty was all that truly mattered to Helenna. As her looks began to fade she devoted her fortune to finding a way to restore her beauty and keep it desperate as she reached 50 still considered one of the most beautiful women in the world but seeing an aging crone when she looked in the mirror she sought out Milos Stempf he agreed to provide her with a formula which would leave her perpetually beautiful.
 
The process worked but not as  Helenna wanted the formula has locked her appearance as it was the day she took the formula she is now unaging and will recover from all damage but is trapped with the face that many would consider stunning but she considers hideous. she wears a mask made to look like white marble with a perfect likeness of her face 30 years ago at the height of her appeal. she never lets anyone see her real face now and will flee if her mask is removed or damaged.
 
she works for the society in the hopes that one day Milos will return and be able to finish her restoration
 
she wears a white body suit that hides her skin completely. she is mostly a field commander for the faceless when she does engage heroes she is mostly a damage sponge absorbing attacks ment for other society members and engaging using martial arts .

"This is Tommy Dugan, reporting live for SNN from the Rocket Racers race from Los Angeles to New York City.  Many of you may recall my father, Pulitzer Prize-winner Jimmy Dugan, reporting just before his retirement about the so-called Robbery Syndicate's prior race across the country.  Nearly all members of the Syndicate were either killed or crippled by American Protector in his efforts to stop the race and the associated thefts.  I am currently riding with... um, is it okay to use your name, sir?"

The driver shrugged as he drove down the highway at breakneck speeds, grimacing briefly in pain.  "Fine by me, Jimmy."  He glanced at the camera and gave a brief smile before turning his attention back to driving.  "I'm Howard Dagley, but most people call me Hot Dog."
 
Dugan smiled.  "And from that name, plus the apparent burn scars on your head and arms, can we assume you have fire powers?"
 
Hot Dog shook his head.  "Nope.  Not dog powers either.  I'm just a reeeeal good driver."  He swerved around a semi with a fraction of an inch to spare, causing the reporter to yelp and the semi driver to swerve wildly and blast his horn.  "Got burned a few years thanks to some psychopath, but it won't stop me from winning this race.  Nor will it stop me from robbing a bank or two along the way."
 
"And are you concerned about American Protector stopping this race as well?  Despite his being found innocent of criminal action during the prior race, there are strong but unconfirmed rumors he has used... exceptional force to stop similar attempts at another cross-country race and crime spree."
 
"Captain Jockstrap?"  Hot Dog laughed derisively.  "I'd like to see him try."
 
"Is that why you invited me to ride along on this race?"  The reporter swallowed nervously, but continued on gamely.  "Are you hoping American Protector makes a move against you, and want me as a witness to his potentially violent actions?"

Hot Dog just smiled without humor in his eyes.  "As I said, I'd like to see him try."
 
 
 

Menagerie
 
Gerald Mann is probably the most powerful member of the society. Gerald was found wandering around a safari park after dark with no memory of  how he got there or who he was.  his name was on a letter in his pocket but no address or other identifying information.
 
he was taken to a mental institution. It was there he experienced the first attack watching a nature program it started like a epileptic fit but then the the beast awoke he felt his skin thicken and take on a  grey tinge and he smashed his way from the rec room in  blind fury with the strength of a bull elephant. Gerald fled into the night.
 
Soon he discovered that any time he concentrated on an animal he would take on its aspect tearing up an ESSO station with the ferocity of a tiger or smashing up a bank like a stampeding black stallion.
 
Eventually he came to the attention of Milos who took him in and helped him to tame his powers using a neural simulator array built into a  Holographic mask.
 
He is now able to take the aspect of the animal of his choice speed of a cheetah strength of an elephant toughness of a rhino or ferocity of A bear.
 
he wears hard wearing clothing as they tend to get ripped up when he takes on an aspect he has also adopted some animal motif accessories to make his them a bit more clear a animal print cummerbund and necklace of animal teeth. he also wears his Holo-mask which shifts to which ever animal he is mimicking.
 
He does not know much about how he developed his powers he suspects Milos created him but has not ruled out his powers being natural.

i'm not sure if this is what you had in mind Csyphrett he ended up kind of a mashup of Scarecrow, Joker and Two-Face it might work better with less gaudy colours

Guy Faux is another of the original Faceless Ones, usually appearing costumed like a scarecrow and wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. Powers include being swift and accurate with pistols and daggers, knowledge of demolitions, an ability to take extraordinary amounts of damage without going down, and possibly a sense of humor; Guy has been known to present "business cards" with an image of the mask and the words "Just Some Guy." The reverse of the cards sometimes have cryptic clues or overt instructions for making contact with the Society; these may be misdirection, bait for a trap, or even genuine leads if given to or dropped to be found by someone the Society might actually want to talk to or work with. In the last case, of course, it will be something like instructions to broadcast a certain message at a certain frequency at a certain time, then tune into another given frequency to listen for a reply.

Garrett Pryne is the oldest of the Society and the faithful lieutenant. He appears now in the guise of one of the Immortals from the film 300 and 300 Rise of an Empire. He was injured in a battle that would leave many others in his position dead. But Garrett did not want to die. So he was brought to Professor Stempf who began the slow process of restoring him. Because of his injuries particularly to his face Garrett sought out a mask and this eventually gave rise to the Society. Garrett underwent rehabilitation therapy so that he could walk and function as a human being again. Once he was able, he became a bodyguard to the Professor. It was this that lead the Professor to use actual humans instead of the creations he grew that were the original faceless men.
Garrett changes his look every few years which means that law enforcement has yet to catch on that it is the same person. His nom de guerre is currently Steel Mask. He uses martial arts and melee weapons usually swords but changes what he does when he changes character. He does not speak but has a link to the others when body language communication i.e. pointing is insufficient. You cannot see eyes when Garrett wears the mask which people find unnerving. His ia also sensitive to the others needs as he knows what it is like to lose the one thing that people instantly gravitate to, the face.
Garrett lets Venus run things and backs her, after all he was the one who trained her in combat. Some of the others don't know who and what he is. They merely assume that the Professor sends someone new every few years.

Because they were associated with the Professor, they were still called Faceless men. And if they were not loyal beforehand, the Professor could make them loyal.

When one of my old Motivators turned up on Facebook, I realized I wanted to start doing these again (the poster was unattributed and poster probably didn't know its origins, but I didn't mind because it wasn't the sort of thing you get anything other than fan-cred for anyway).
 
So I've done a few to dip my toe in.
