  1. some people and I am one believe the accusation of franken is a response to the women coming out against Moore. Instead of dealing with it moore's party is throwing the same dirt at the opposition
  2. That she didn't have a problemm kissing him UNTIL it became a good time to attack a democrat. Now you may try to link this to the Roy Moore issue, however this would be a false equivelancy fallacy. Roy.Moore was a DA and a powerful lawyer, he had a position of power and cod refute his accusers, and possibly have police "invrstigate" them and their families if they accused him. Alabama was very much a "man's world" state where things could go very bad for a woman accusing a man especially if he had legal connections. When they USO tour happened franken was a writer for snl and a book author. What power did he have to coerce or intimidate anyone? Also there is a lot of evidence about Moore, like the fact a mall banned him, he has a signature in a girl's HS yearbook, multiple accusers some of whom are not members of the other political party and there has been a blatant attempt to make it look like Moore is being set up. (The robocalls from a guy claiming to be a Jewish reporter from the NYT offering money to anyone willing to accuse Moore.) What evidence against franken is there other than this woman's word?
  3. BTW, here's one political trick to watch out for: counter intuitive arguments. While counter intuitive facts do come up in science quite orten, especially if you get into (eeeek!) Quantum physics, when politicians bring up counter intuitive "solutions" they are often pulling the old "emperor's new clothes" scam. I.E. "While our solution tp (whatever) may appear to be unworkable to somenpeolle, only the (ignorant, naive, uneducated, stupid, libtards, etc) fail to see their true brilliance!" Illustration:
  4. If franken violated here were are the witnesses who were in the pic?
  5. Slob comedy slam: animal house vs hot tub time machine.
  6. Depends on the person doing the sportscasting.
  7. Here's a pic with multiple witnesses in evidence . AFAIC case closed.
  8. Maybe the endemic overcrowding and anthill like existence of people in Japanese cities might be part of why they are now suffering a negative population growth.
  9. Well, people have used natural antibiotics for a long long time without knowing why or how they worked. Ancient Egyptians knew that putting honey on a wound helped prevent infection. Nostodamus used garlic based concoctions tonight the black plague. Honey and garlic are natural antibiotics. True actual, intentionally made antibiotics are relatively recent, but people were using natural antibiotics thousands of years ago without even knowing about germs
  10. I really thought the Japanese were smarter than that. Seriously the Japanese build artificial islands off shore but they didn't built an elevation to put their nuke plant on? Yeah, a couple months with heavy movers, several hundred thousands of stone and dirt, built an artificial plateau like 30' (or 10 meters if you're a metzi) and this would have been a non issue. Or have massive portable diesel generators and heavy lift skycranes to deploy them, lift the generators to Fukushima, deploy them, hookmtyem to the coolant systems and you're good. Yeah yeah I know the "hindisght's always 20/20” line but dammit if I can think of this they shold have too.
  11. Vibranium. Not just a super hard metal. Hammer's slammers tanks vs AT-ATs.
  12. God I can't believe people in Japan actually tolerate this....
  13. Lost. It doesn't do actual brain damage like LSD can. Predator with geqr from the first movie vs T-800.
  14. Wireless. Less stupid name. Smart phones: naked or case?
  15. BTW the Orville is not better than trek. It just happened to e luckier in tat it is made in a time when good effects are easy dye to CGI and experience and has a better budget than trek did because trek proved sf can be profitable. I can't comment on the show as I will never watch an episode since I hate Seth McFarlane.
  16. Well sure, we could have made star trek a series wit very inhuman aliens and elaborate makeup that would have eaten the budget in lie 3 episodes an d we could make having to establish communication witnegery new alien a pivotal point of every EP and spent most of the EP learning to communicate. And the series would have laksted like 3 episodes so I guess it would have balanced out.
  17. Old man you don't have to choose. There are games that combine fps and RTS quite nicely. Two I've ayer and loved the hell out of are Activision's battlezone and "hostile waters: Antaeus rising" and I recommend them both as long as you have a monster joystick with 8 way hat and a lotta buttons. As to your question, go seems better.
  18. The guy who took the photo said it was a staged photo and she'd agreed to it. Also during her USO show she was making seriously sexual gestures (mock humping) people on stage.
  19. Yeah, science has that whole liberal, anti religious bias, so it's got to be wrong. We need people to fight it... Seriously, someone mentioned "alternative democracy" above. It's like "alternative facts”. It's either a fact or it isn't. Either verifiable data supports something or it doesn't. The fact that people choose to believe something and they have a right to believe it doesn't make it a fact, alternative eor otherwise.
  20. Cleveland browns. As much as I hate sports sucky teams usually don'tt kill or maim people. Or spill toxic chemicals. Or start honking fires. Tony Stark vs Lex Luthor.
  21. One on one an Abrams wins. In a cost balanced battle where equal values of tanks are fighting the T 72s will outnumber the Abrams. Also are we talking about stripped down monkey model T 72s manned by third world mass conscription crews or are we talking fully equipped main Russian army 72s with trained crews? If the former the Abrams win. If the latter it's up innte air. American tankers think the money models manned by third rate troops ate equal to mainline, fully equipped red army tanks crewed by professionals. They could be in for a surprise. The Abrams will be superior one on one but the 72s will outnumber them. We saw how that played out with Tiger Panzers vs T 34s. Seal team vs Israeli special forces team.
  22. I should have known better (this is a little OT, sorry) but I had some hopes once that new film making technology would make but feasible for micro production films to be of adequate quality to generate enough revenue to finance themselves and another film. Thus good, original and non formulaic films could be made and distributed that wouild be successful witnfairly tiny returns. A new generation of "young turk" film makers with original visions could arise and displace the profit obsessed pablum factory Hollywood as become. Seeing what fan films were doing with star trek gave me hope. Then i saw paramount murder the fan film industry because not was making far better treknthan they could. I realized ten that Hollywood would never really let micron productions compete with them. Whenever a micro production outfit challenged a big studio, the studio would not compete with it. It would simply swing a huge sack of money and crush the micro production legally. After all, it's cheaper and easier to crush a small production outfit with legal might than it is to make better films.
  23. Leone. I never forgave copola for the horse head. (BTW ever wonder why so any Spielberg movies feature a helpless bound woman in peril? ) Sf horror hardfight: Alien vs the thing 1982.
