  1. Re: Ranged weapon reload times Another consideration regarding rate of fire for a muzzle loader is preparedness. A powder horn and flint and a bag of balls was slower than a trained soldier with a bag of powder filled cartridgesand a case of percussion caps positioned for easy access. The civil war soldier and the revolutionary war soldier were very different in regards to speed of loading, simply based on these combat multipliers.

  5. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Thanks. I appreciate the insight.
  6. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? Back in the ancient days of 1st edition (when Martial arts were terribly broken) I supplemented in a similar way. I think for super martial artists that is may be the most effective method.
  7. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Are you guys still using "Fabrica de Herois"? Because it screws up constantly no matter what browser I use.
  8. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? This is the WWI version of Paramount. Paramount was transported through time from a doomed future world to save mankind. As an infant, the hero appeared in a time pod in the year 1900 on the farm of Isaac and Mary Green, sharecroppers in Mississippi. Their adopted son Amos discovered that he had powers far beyond those of mortal men and was recruited by the US Army to help fight in WWI. Due to his African heritage and the racism inherent in the period, Paramount was forced to fight under a concealing black leather suit and mask. After the war he resigned his commission and remained in France. 9. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? I just got that recently. I read over him and he's a great addition to the Ultimates and a nice plot hook there.
  10. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? That's essentially what I did. I gave mine the baseline physical skills, allllllll the martial arts maneuvers, overall skill levels, and a vpp only usable for skills. I didn't link the vpp with the set skills. That's a good one. Suppress one and you suppress them all.
  11. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? How did you build the photographic reflexes? I've seen it handled several ways.
  12. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? Good stuff Bloodstone. Repped. I'm always in favor of Taskmaster+*Badass of your choice* builds
  13. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Purely from the standpoint of someone who appreciates cartoons as an art form, it's brilliant.
  14. Re: The Guardians Project - Lets build the original Champions I always assumed he was multi-racial. I was actually happy to see that.
  15. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I suddenly feel better.
  16. Re: Who are the copies/pastiches/tributes/captain ersatz in your campaigns? Well said. And then, I believe, there are "tribute" characters. For example, in the first appearance of the Squadron Sinister (later Supreme) at Marvel and the Champions of Angor/Assemblers at DC were tributes to the JLA/Avengers. My favorite was the 1977 Invaders/Freedom Fighters "Crossover."

  20. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? *Sigh* I watched the new "My little Ponies" series to see what the fuss was about and tried to stay objective. Lauren Faust has recreated all the genius of the "Power Puff Girls". The writing is tight. The mythology is clever and consistent. The humor made me chuckle (a rare thing for television). The characters are likable. More importantly, there a self-saving princesses in this show. Young ladies watching this program are not inundated by reactive, sissified females that are too foolish to solve their own problems. The morals are classic morals (as opposed to the late 80s/early 90s morals of "adults want to kidnap you" and "drugs are bad"). The thing that really grabbed me is that the challenges are very Norse/German folklore in style and reminiscent of tales I read as a child (I was raised in a household by a German grandfather). It's a very good show. Don't get me wrong. I shoot bullets from my eyes and ride horses and am about as 'manly' as one should expect from a guy who identifies so heavily with Sam Vimes, but... I might be a Brony.

  22. Re: The Guardians Project - Lets build the original Champions Well done sir. You are a build-machine!
